wilco will be on world cafe' at www.wxpn.org today, friday, in the 2-4 pm est. hope it's not a repost.
-
over 14000 posts on a wilco board and you've never heard this song?
-
steve hoffman forum has this come up about every week and i don't remember which one is thought best but i would look there for your answer. np: the movie free enterprise.

jeff lynne (?sp) ruined about everything he touched after the 80's. but, his 70's work is some of the best pop rock ever. i like "do ya" as a favorite.
-
if he does a box i hope it's got some pinkhearts on it.

wilco's done a great job of turning me on to some bands who open for them: mercury rev, califone and now low. i'll have to wait for pitchfork to catch califone though. they had one of my favorite cds of last year and i went back and got cradlesnakes and it's killer, too.
-
great starter set there. i'll add drive by truckers, slobberbone, gourds, and son volt.
-
patty hurst shifter (fans of early wilco might like em) dead confederate (led zeppelin meats mmj) cartridge family (sound like when new wave was cool) the bleeding hearts (party rockers ripping off riffs from everyone from kiss to neil geraldo) a decent animal (local shoegazer types with a lot of heart and talent) explorers club (yeh they get written up in mojo and on pitchfork but good luck buying anything from them unless you're in england, poppy garge rock with great harmonies) carry ann hearst (5' tall alt country dynamo) and as usual, they all are probably on myspace.

whereabouts in sc? it's not like delaware (no offense delaware)
-
conspiracy a go go and i like it. i agree this may be the most likely explanation and good guerilla marketing. np: alejandro "i wanna be your dog" come on
-
maybe he is elvis! or bubba ho tep. long live the king.
-
movie to be directed by richard linklater.

am i remembering wrongly or did wilco raise a fuss with leaked yhf songs and that's what's led to their streaming the songs for the past two albums? at least that way they could make sure the streams sounded up to snuff. maybe i'm wrong.

i use ivolume for my mac to better equalize volume levels of different cds. it has worked well. i use 256 aac for encoding and its pretty near flawless with acceptable file sizes. 192 aac or vbr lame encoded mp3 is going to be near perfect, too. it really matters on what music you listen to and how you listen to it.

here's a paraphrase of the statute: "The DMCA statutory license has the following conditions: 1. Pay royalties. This obligation is discussed more fully below. 2. Sound recording performance complement. A webcaster may not play in any three-hour period...

it would beinteresting to know if the station has a webstream and if the album was played in its entirety on the stream? i believe that is actually against some laws as i learned from some research.

check out those tour dates. that's one organized outfit. dates announced months ahead and deep into the fall. and even hitting my neck of the woods.
-
mojo magazine has run a number of great articles on peppers and the album is really a technical feat. and then there's the incredible songwriting and on and on. still sounds ground breaking 40 years on.

hummer is GM. i think they have more cars on the road than vw. vw has been at the forefront of new diesel technologies, also, and have cars that get better mpg than hybrids according to tests done independently by autoweek magazine.

that makes sense but a minimum number of hours guaranteed is not asking much. maybe they do that already but it wasn't clear on that website.

all i know is what i read, first there was a big article in usa today, maybe about a year ago that put starbucks in a negative light, the specifics of which i forget right now . then i just googled "is starbucks evil" and ran into the union website which had interesting things to say. so what's the deal with no set hours? that would suck not being guaranteed at least a minimum number of hours a week. the affordable health care is a whole 'nother animal that's not just a problem for starbucks' employees.

it took me a while but i figured it out on my own. alas, i preordered the lp and didn't get the extra tracks or dvd. i used to obsess about collecting every single song by wilco and whiskeytown but i've since mellowed. i imagine i'll hear it one day in a future age, so to say.
