  1. I tried once again to read Infinite Jest, and after about a hundred pages I gave up, as usual. It is not pleasurable reading. Fuck that book.
  2. I've always found it hard to root for any team coached by Calipari, but I will be pulling for them over UCLA because, well, west-coast teams can fuck off.
  3. "It's for you I swoon." Takes me back to a broken heart. Love the song though.
  4. Wow, I don't think there's ever been a final four where I actively dislike every team, but it looks like we could have one this year(barring a huge Davidson upset later). I guess I'll be pulling for Kansas, I don't really dislike them all that much. Actually, I'll definitely be rooting for them as they'll be playing UNC, and I must echo the Tyler Hansbrough-is-someone-I-can't-stand sentiment.
  5. I know I'm feeling nostalgic as fuck right now. But I can't help it. Klaus Meine was the man. I still get chills when I hear the opening chords to No One Like You.
  6. Yeah, I'd say pie trumps cake every time. Warm apple pie with ice cream and caramel sauce.
  7. There seems to be such a dearth of New Pornogrophars' info on the internet. I mean, besides the obvious album reviews and stuff like that. I don't know what else I'm looking for. I just know I've been listening to Electric Version non-stop for a week now. Where the hell has this band been all my life? I guess I don't know shit about great indie rock.
  8. Okay, I only discovered this band from this thread. Thank you.
  9. I just can't see a scenario where the Patriots don't destroy the Giants. I just don't. I hate Tom Brady's hair as much as the next guy.
  10. Piano Bar at New York, New York. Greatest time ever.
  11. Yeah, that's why USC won like 35 straight conference games at home. You honestly think there's a chance in hell that would happen if they played in the SEC?
  12. The Ron Paul thing is just so perplexing to me. The other board I go to(which skews a bit younger than here), there are a bunch of self-proclaimed libertarians where many of them think differently on a lot of political points -- but they all seem to be sure that Ron Paul is the way of the future. It's really kind of bizarre. I mean, is there NO other candidate out there that libertarians support? I like what someone else said as far as his internet support, this guy is like the Arcade Fire of the 2008 election.
  13. As upset as I was at the Gators losing to Michigan(again), I am happy for the Michigan seniors. I can't imagine how devestated of a Wolverine locker room that would have been if UF had pulled out the victory. Good for those guys, and the rest of the team and the Michigan fans. Lloyd Carr, I could give two shits about. I wonder how many jerk-off AP voters are gonna vote USC number one.
  14. Wondering if I could get some quick fantasy advice in here. Would you go with Peyton Manning at home against Houston(in a game that has no playoff bearing at all for Indy), or with Derek Anderson at Cincinnati? I'm leaning towards Anderson. Any input would be appreciated.
  15. New York strip, medium rare. Chili's actually has a pretty tasty strip on their menu.
  16. He's getting destroyed in this Falcons' press conference.
  17. Wilco at Jannus Landing would be like the greatest thing ever.
  18. I'm really having a hard time understanding why people seem to think that Colt Brennan will be a better NFL quarterback than Tim Tebow. Please, one of you Mel Kiper Juniors out there, let me know what it is about this Brennan guy that makes him so special.
  19. I'm so used to NFL refs making shitty calls, it doesn't even phase me anymore. But that was a really shitty call. I am taking pleasure in knowing that somewhere there are members of the '72 Dolphins not popping champagne.
  20. Philly's mediocre, they're not bad. Andy Reid may be a shitty father, but he's a good coach. That team's gonna be ready like it's a playoff game. And they have enough players on both sides of the ball that have played in huge games before. All of the talk about New England possibly being the greatest team ever is completely warranted, but it's going on the backburner this Sunday.
  21. Not a chance in hell New England covers that 23 and a half point spread against Philly. Are you kidding me? I know they've covered every week besides the Indy game, but they're not doing it on Sunday night, even if McNabb doesn't play.
  22. It was definitely Ohio State-heavy. I don't know if the Woody Hayes segment was twice as long as Schembechler's, but he seemed to have a much greater presence throughout the doc. The '95 game when Biakabutuka ran all over OSU was covered well, but they glossed over with one sentence the rest of Michigan's dominance in the second half of the decade. No mention of the Wolverines' national title in '97, while the Buckeyes' 2002 championship got several highlights. I don't know if Lloyd Carr was ever even mentioned. And yeah, the segment about all of the great Michigan players that came f
  23. My Life, with Michael Keaton. It was at the part when they brought the circus to his backyard(he was playing a terminally ill man). I was just like, no, I'm not doing this anymore. Went out to the lobby and played Galaga 'till it was over.
