  1. yep, same here. Enjoy the evening.
  2. I think they are finally clicking in this second set with Unbroken Chain.
  3. Missed that. This 2nd set is not starting off very well. The UJB was a bit of train wreck, never heard this second song before. Peaceful Vally????
  4. I don't think it's too fair to play some of the 5.8.77 show between sets here on XM. Man, this Minglewood rocks.
  5. The vocals or the guitar playing; or both? I think he's alright. I would say I would prefer him than Warren Haynes. I love Haynes, but he very hit or miss with the Dead.
  6. I wish they would stop Good Lovin, it gets old quick.
  7. Jeff C. on the piano playing on Sugaree is great, great solo.
  8. Yeah there was a nice delay/echo on Weir's vocals at the end. And you are right about this being a hotter ticket. I am sure the venue has a lot to with that, at least with me it does.
  9. I haven't bought a ticket, yet. I might try to find one before one of the shows. I came across this on another site yesterday, not sure how true it is. It isn't up on Dead.net yet. Haven't heard the above show before.
  10. Some nice Weir banter after Jed, it's funny he said John isn't a big shot like Phil and him. Just got in during Tenn. Jed. Down at my mother in laws, not he most optimal place to listen to a Dead related show, oh well
  11. Just noticed that Devin Hoff will be playing Elastic tonight. Shame, no chance of Cline sitting in. The quartet he will be playing with though are all great players.
  12. Was that part of the show that aired the footage/peformances from the Deadicated cd (A Tribute to the Dead for the Rain Forest)? I always loved Lyle Lovett's version of Friend of the Devil and Susanne Vega's cover. Actually the whole cd is pretty good.
  13. I think I probably snagged this show from bt-etree because of the Taper book, too. I try to snag the shows that are in "Tapes to get:" sections from each year and obviously this is one of the them. It is a great audience recording.
  14. Because Obama, in his first year, only performed a third (1/3) of the ACLU's 142 discrete recommendations to address 66 specific problems or issues is the reason why Baez and Dylan did not do a duet. He isn't worthy. The main jest of the event was: I agree he can and should do more (and I think will a the years progress), but I think Obama is qualified to put on the above event, no?
  15. Yeah, I blame A-Man for getting my hopes up .
  16. No duet, oh well. Baez did "We Shall Overcome" and Dylan "The Times they are a Changin'". Dylan did play (though sparingly)an acoustic guitar, which I have not seen him do in a while. It was just him, Garnier on stand up bass, and a piano player who I did not recognize. I thought it sounded good. Baez sounded nice also, her voice seems a bit deeper than I remember.
  17. Today is the anniversary of the below: Hell of a lot of nice first time songs played.
  18. I guess the Civil Rights Concert is going be tonight, rather than tomorrow White house link I am assuming PBS will still run it on Thurs.
  19. I am hedging my bets that it is going to happen. Why the hell not.
  20. YouTube clip for No Direction Home This is the part I was talking about. She is more of critical of the fans who were asking her if Dylan was coming...
  21. Watched By the People: The Election of Barack Obama this past week. Okay documentary, but the intuition of the (first time) director/film maker was pretty spot on. If you watch the film with the comments on, they talk about their process as the campaign dragged on and on.
