  1. Once I was sitting in traffic on the Ryan and all of sudden a lit cigarette appeared on my lap - the idiot next to me obliviously tossed it out their window. When they do a clean up on the Lake Michigan beaches, the amount of butts is staggering.
  2. Have you heard any of this - This has some spectacular versions of Stones songs :
  3. This (CNN link) reminded me of this thread.
  4. You should check the Urban out, just for the hell of it at least. At this point in The Stones career - I don't think they give Dice much justice in a live setting; Urban at least had fun with it.
  5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GsPVNPYyQcQ&feature=related Well this certainly has the dirt, perhaps a little sex, but not much groove. It's okay though. Is this version from their Exile release? and thanks for the link, Tinnitus.
  6. I'm not sure I would consider Shine a Light a blues song - maybe more so a gospel song.
  7. Is the Pussy Galore version of Exile available? I realize it was just release on a cassette, right?
  8. Jazz Aspen Snowmass Link Looks like it should be a hell of weekend. and now the pitch...
  9. Like the tune - don't mind hearing it at pretty much every show, it stills makes my booty shake all the same.
  10. Keith Urban's version of Tumbling Dice - really liked this version. Pretty straight forward but Urban (and band) played great and seemed "into" it. Nice to see Chuck Leavell. I like the low opening notes to Urban's guitar solo. Shout out to Nashville was appropriate, too.
  11. Green Day's version of Rip This Joint - I thought it was good. Taj Mahal's version of Shine a Light - didn't work for me (did like the outro guitar solo)
  12. All the above is correct - Richards did say that.
  13. I think that was the best band Dylan ever played with (that includes The Band). Each night they put on a different show and it usually always sounded inspired and great.
  14. Saw a preview - it does look interesting. I like the premise; especially since my first kid is 7 months. I would enjoy seeing the raising of a kid from difference parts of the world.
  15. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8CoC-S1DY4&feature=related Some one uploaded this show on Hunger City. All the clips are up on YouTube. Beck has a nice solo on this Dylan cover. Jeff Beck Group Mk2 - Beat Club 1972 Jeff Beck: Guitar, Backing Vocals Bob Tench: Vocals Max Middleton: Keyboards Clive Chaman: Bass Cozy Powell: Drums
  16. Thurston Moore and Lee Ranaldo. Richards and Wood (1975-1982) Good call on the Dave Murray and Adrian Smith. I suppose Glenn Tipton and K.K. Downing should be mentioned, too.
  17. Here is a pretty neat link that has lots of Dick Latvala "best of" lists. Also has pages of his note books, that was discussed earlier in this thread.
  18. I guess Green Day will be on Monday (5/10) - I always have been a sucker for Green Day. Hopefully they don't disappoint. I don't the mind the new Plundered song. I would have preferred them not to mess with it, but I am just happy they are finally releasing some of this stuff. Here is the official video of Plundered my Soul. I do really like the video.
  19. Thanks for the link. Anybody catch this at the theaters? It looks fantasic.
