This show is on the radio now. First time listening to it. Garcia playing is especially great during this show. Over at bt.etree a guy as started to put up all the 73 shows. He's only up to April, looking forward to May.

Well that place is bit of a train wreck---apologies to anyone who's posts over there---trying to read through the posts to find a decent review is always challenge.

It has been Jay Lane and Joe Russo on drums/percussion throughout the whole Furthur run (last and this year) I believe.

Rolling Stones to reissue Get Your Ya Ya's Out

Always loved that picture. Keith's feet crack me up and of course Anita's legs. Thanks for the link. -
Great pic.

Greg Kot gave it a great review, to each his own. Since this is the supposed last CD, Rubin may have not had much left to work with. I don't think I would want a happy, happy, funny, funny song on a disc called Ain't No Grave. Then again I liked (for the most part) the Rubin produced releases. Full Trib. Link

Now I remember why I was an independent all those years.

Yeah, lots of reading of letters. -
What are people thoughts on Day Job. I was listening to the Grateful Dead talk show on the radio today and a caller called in and was wondering if Furthur has been practicing Day Job. I never saw them perform it; the song never bothered me much. I always like Brother Esau, too.

I guess a madhouse may be a bit extreme, the reviewer writes about the new influx of fans mainly due the Touch of Grey craze. The venue was in a rural area and of course their were a lot of ticket less fans/dogs. I guess it was your typical 90's crowd. It is a nice sounding show.

Listening to the 7.2.88 show from Oxford Plains Speedway in Maine. It seemed Phil was getting sick of people chanting his name. Nice write up in the Taper's book. I guess the scene around this and the 7/3 was a bit of a mad house. I caught the five Chicagoland shows in 94. The 2nd set in the last Soldier Field show seemed to drag on forever. Some of the playing was okay. I haven't listened to the tape in a long time. I almost did not buy tickets for the 95 shows at Soldier's because of the that last 94 show, luckily I did end up going to the last one.

Well I can't think of a better alternative.

Not much of a whiskey drinker, but I do enjoy Knob Creek, if available. I drank too much Old Crow in college, kinda of ruined whiskey for me. Though I must admit, Old Crow isn't bad for a cheaper whiskey.

I only heard two shows: last week's Cornell show and a show from 12.13.09. The Cornell show did not sound too hot while the 12.13 show sounded great. Have you listened to any of the shows (Here is the Archive link that Lammycat provided earlier.) I guess I would go, at least you should have fun your friends, right?
-
Are you going to go? I wonder if John K. is going to be play Dark Star Orchestra, too.

It looks like they are going to release another Road Trip set, too. from Gans' site:

I think I remember reading that Weir refused to do an encore and they did it without him. I think it may have been in McNally's book.
-
The Taper's book gave it a very favorable review, also. All, except Drums, were considered highlights. Does Archive.org only pull soundboard copies of those shows that are or will be commercially available? I don't think a soundboard of this show has ever surfaced. (edit: I did see a soundboard on archive.)

Did you correct him/her and say "the socialists"? -
It would be great for an official releases of Sunshine Daydream; the only bits of that movie I have seen are the one's on YouTube.

Here is an official link to that July 7, 1989 cd/dvd set that I mentioned earlier.

Yeah, that is why I like Rolling with the Stones better than Stone Alone. Rolling is more of scrap book type of book.
-
That was my first Stones' book I read. Quite the read as a eleven year old or so. I think it may be one of the books that altered my adolescence (for better or worse ). It is an entertaining read but full of b.s.. One of my favorites is Wyman's Rolling with the Stones (Amazon link) . Lot's of cool pictures from his archives and entries from his tour diaries.

They did, as well as Watts and Wood, participate in the According to the Rolling Stones book.
