  1. I read that there was some type of silent film showing before the show, instead of music. Were you able to catch any of the movie?
  2. I find the music TBS plays during the line-up announcements to be very annoying.
  3. Same here, which is a good thing. The Chicago show was a good one.
  4. David Grisman - mandolin on Grateful Dead's Friend Of The Devil and Ripple Wayne Shorter - sax on Steely Dan's Aja Sonny Rollins - sax on Stones' Waiting on a Friend.
  5. Also, I poorly worded the above response. I didn't mean Ruth and Mantle specifically would have taken the drugs, I meant that if the drugs were around during each of their eras, some players may have taken them.
  6. Well when faced with the argument of "the players back in my day would never have used anything to enhance their ability", I tend to roll my eyes. Some athletes want to be the best and they go about it which ever way the choose. During the late 90's/early 00's it was not against the rules to take the crap some were taking. I am not justifying it, because really there isn't anything to justify. Now it is against the rules, so any player found taking the stuff should be punished and they are. I don't think the frame of mind of athletes have change all that much since the Ancient Greek days - t
  7. The sense that players always tried to get around the rules: spit balls, cutting the baseballs with rings, and amphetamines. Also some implied that if a drug like steroids were around during the Ruth/Mantle days they would have used them. Hope you found the dog.
  8. I heard it put in that context before and I have to agree with it. I thought part one was pretty good. Watching the part on the strike brought up a bunch of bad feelings all over again - the White Sox were in first place that year before the strike.
  9. I thought this was kinda of cool - from Obama's interview in Rolling Stone. Rolling Stone Link Of course, he probably just wanted to get back on his bus so he can catch Pawn Stars.
  10. On the Faces' covers, I read that Ian McLagan sat in at the Austin show, which would have been cool to see. The Crowes also cover the Stones "Just Wanna See His Face" a few nights ago. It's up on bt-etree. It started off kinda rough, but I think it sounded okay.
  11. Yeah and getting picked up by the cops. He must of signed off on it, I'd guess. I don't know though. I can see Dlyan watching Pawn Stars on his bus.
  12. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32NWr5RKDRg Loved the fist bump.
  13. Gotta love the comments on the house page - sheesh.
  14. Saw Ladies and Gentlemen: The Rolling Stones last week in a theater, the lighting was a bit dark, but the performance was great. Can't wait for the DVD.
  15. Sure you already know, but it's up on bt-etree. Haven't had a chance to listened to it, yet, with the exception of the East Virgina Blues - Dickinson sounded great on the tune.
  16. Never heard that I Washed My Hands In Muddy Water before. Sounded good. The show from 12/7/71 (Felt Forum) was one of my first boots, as was 4/29/71 (Fillmore East).
  17. Been listening to the above all day.
  18. Crowebase link of times played of "Pimper's Paradise". Haven't heard of that song either. Over on the Black Crowes site Chris talks about their show with the Grateful Dead in the Tall Tale's section and Steve talks about it on one his podcast on his site.
  19. I am downloading it off of dime, now. Must admit never heard the tune, before.
  20. Found this by the way of the BC Tour Blog - Steve's tweets from the Snowmass Festival. Guess he liked watching Wilco.
  21. It was the 99 Park West, Chicago shows. Half the songs of each show were acoustic. Early show (bobdates) Late Show (boddates) That early show in Atlantic City set does look good, though. Haven't heard it.
  22. I have seen Dylan where he played two shows in one night - one show had LARS, the other AATW. So in essence I saw a show when he didn't play one of them, but of course I got both in one night. I only care if a band plays well; they can play what ever they want.
  23. Croweology may be a good start. It has the current lineup doing their old catalog, acoustically. For a double cd, it's rather cheap, too.
  24. Tonight (and tonight only!!!!!) this movie is going to be in the theaters. Here is a link to the participating theaters. I am looking forward to it, since I only watched various snippets of it on YouTube. Should be great in a theatre.
