  1. Good points. Silencers in the heating system would help that, though. Nothing worse than hearing the HVAC system (well maybe talkers), while one is trying to listen to music, yet alone recording music.
  2. I think the loft still has heating issues. I know a heating guy(me) who might be able to make it more comfortable... Below is a great shot, nice shot of all the equipment, including the camera bag, in the shot.
  3. I was on the fence about buying it. I was able to reserve one and got a confirmation to purchase a "personalized" set. They gave me 2 weeks to decide and on the 13th day, I ordered it. It's definitely a lot of dough, though - I figured I would be kicking myself once they release it in September, if I didn't get it. Hopefully Rhino/Dead.net does a great job on the set. Of course, if they do a poor job on this set, they will be shooting themselves in the foot with regards to future "tour" releases. (I had them put my kid's initials on it.)
  4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6j7huh5Egew I was never much a fan, but my wife is, so their music plays around the house a bit. But I thought the above video was pretty cool. May they R.I.P.
  5. Rahm was refering to the Illinois Supreme Court, not the U.S. That's pretty funny. Thanks for the reports.
  6. general-info-about-front-gate-ticketing The above is pinned in this Just a Fan forum - you will find some info in there. I don't think I have ever used Front Gate Ticketing, before.
  7. Found this via Expecting Rain. From the Village Voice: A Word From Todd Snider: What Would You Say If You Met Bob Dylan? It seems like Snider has a lot of friends who ran into him. I thought the below was funny: I probably wouldn't say anything besides maybe a "Hey" if I ran into Dylan.
  8. It looks like it will definitely go on. Supreme Court: Emanuel on Chicago mayor ballot (Trib. link) Unanimous decision, too.
  9. Are the archives down? I get a "Apache 2 Test Page" when I click on the link.
  10. And three times more than all the competitors combined. I am wondering if he can use any of the money raised on his legal fees, which have to be pretty high at this point.
  11. I put the below information in the Jazz thread, but some may not visit that particular thread. Cline will be playing with Hoff at the Hideout(in Chicago) in March. Should be a great show - Rempis and Rosaly are both excellent musicians.
  12. That's good - have fun. Ida Noyes Hall is a really cool building.
  13. Buses are for losers and boozers kevintoy pm'd and I gave him direction via the train, if he decides to come down here. There are swing classes going on Tuesday night at Ida Noyes Hall (a great "old school" library building), which is 3 blocks from the 59th Metra stop. I agree with LouieB., venturing down to Hyde Park and leaving Hyde Park around 10pm may be an ambitious undertaking for someone who never visited a major U.S. city. But I did point out to him that he will be on campus and that there are plenty of "emergency/panic buttons" throughout the campus, if one finds themselves in
  14. Down here in Hyde Park there is swing dancing every Friday night. U of Chicago Link The President of China is going to be in town on January 20tha and 21st, I am sure the Chinese Consultant is going to be hopping: Chicago Tribune Link
  15. The above came out somewhat recently - just listened to it again this morning - great stuff. I think all the legal issues are done - I could be wrong though.
  16. If it was taped, it will appear the In a future age forum, (a forum here on the Via Chicago board.)
  17. On another board there is is a discussion of their 85 Live Aid performance, also someone uploaded it on Dime today/yesterday - what a train wreck. Granted they hadn't played together since Bonham's death. I never even gotten around to listen to or download their 2007 O2 Arena show, but I am glad there are a crap load of older bootlegs out there.
  18. k.d. Lang does it justice.
  19. Report: Michigan Fires Head Football Coach Rich Rodriguez
