YouTube. Pretty good/fun version. Almost a gospel feel towards the end. Weir sounded great.

Going to Chicago....what to do, see, stay, etc.

I guess this thread is good as any for the below info. Nice line-up. These shows are typically fun. I'm glad the city didn't cut this. -

Thanks for the link. I haven't heard about this, it sounds like an interesting idea. I wonder if it going to be subscription type thing? It appears that Weir wiped out on his bike again (scrape on his elbow). It's a bit funny that Journey already played/rehearsed there.

I didn't know that, though I am not too familiar with 75-81 era of the Allman Brothers Band. I don't think I ever heard any record or show they put out during that period.
-
One would think they would or at least they always have in the past (I think).

Just read that Jambase interview, Trucks sure did get slammed in the comments. I guess I don't see the point either, bringing Dickey up again. He's been out of the band for a pretty long time.

Bob Lefsetz bugs me sometimes, but here is a pretty decent blog post of his regarding the Fillmore album and a recent Beacon show. Hopefully the Allman Brothers Band comes through Chicago this year. Haven't seen them in a couple of years. I haven't been following the setlists for the Beacon Run. Just noticed the setlist for the 17th. Looks like fun show.

To me Bear's voice sounds a bit like Garcia's. Also I guess The Grateful Dead Movie will be played in theaters throughout the U.S. on April 20th. Details at Dead.net. Never saw it in the theaters. Last year I was able to catch the Stones Ladies and Gentlemen in a theater, now the Grateful Dead movie. Also which other CD's was Bear involved in, other than the Dead? I swore I had one or two but I can't find them. I thought it was the recent Moby Grape live release, but his name does appear on the liner notes. Bear's Album Page Besides the Dead stuff, I don't have any of the others. I gue

Google LosslessBob. It should help you find some shows.

Do you mind torrents?

Just came on the board to post this. Crazy, weird, and interesting dude.

Yep. Also I guess he sat in the first Dead's show in San Fran. in 2003 (according to otherones.net). Did Loose Lucy, then too. Not sure which version XM plays, but I guess it doesn't manner.
-
It's definitely the Dead, at least that what my XM screen reads, might be from 2003 show. I was mistaken regarding the Weir info. Hagar did a Celebrity Guest DJ spot on the channel, he talked a lot about hanging with Weir. Hagar and Garcia would of made an interesting pairing - yikes.

The Grateful Dead XM Station plays a Dead version of "Loose Lucy" with Sammy Hager sitting in, quite a bit. Never was a big fan of the song to begin with and Hager makes it even worse. I guess Hager was/is neighbor of Weir's. I agree with A-Man, writing about a dude's problem is pretty lame, but of course it sells. I saw Van Halen in 91 in Carbondale, I had a free ticket. It was decent enough show from what I remember

I try not to watch the rehab show but usually fail. He seemed pretty messed up on the show. Wasn't a big Alice and Chains fan, so I never heard of him before the show. Addiction sure is a suck ass thing. I wonder how people who go through the rehab show, succeed in recovery?

He was the guy who played with Jagger on the Grammy's, right? The Tiny Desk performance was great.

Going on now...

Nice to see Dave Douglas on the schedule.

A while back (perhaps in the 2nd Dead thread) we were discussing Hart's financial status while he was on hiatus from the band. Below is a blogger "hypothesis. The whole post is pretty good. Lost Live Dead (blog)

Which, I think, would be good for the Cardinals. They should get a lot for him. I don't the particulars of his contracts, though. At least it would be better than loosing him to free agency.

I agree.

Jeffrey Norman 2/4/11 re Europe ’72: The Complete Recordings David Gans audio interview with Jeffrey Norman. Pretty nice talk regarding mixing.
