Always wanted to see a show there - gonna try.

That's good, I like Spader.

It's been 10 years since I last saw Bennett play. Damn shame.
-
I don't think he moved back - he played the Chicago Theater last week. The song he wrote about the Cubs is pretty cheesy - but then again the Cubs are pretty cheesy.
-
Did anybody catch Dave Douglas' Brass Ecstasy - curious to know your thoughts - read they did a Wilco cover.
-
I was flipping through the Jack Johnson Session's booklet again this morning and forgot that there are quotes from Nels.

Never heard of Stetson - cool shot of him playing on his website. I need to check him out. Forgot to write, listening to:

When I think of 120 Minutes, Kevin Seal comes to my mind - it was fun to watch. -
Well that's a bit odd, not sure if it was a wise decision, though. Perhaps he just didn't want too make another trip back to Chicago, to many bad memories.

In addition to A-Man's suggestions: Empire Burlesque World Gone Wrong (all solo acoustic cover songs)

Sounds like an awesome trip - safe travels.

Yeah, it was 1984 on XRT' Flashback this morning and of course they mentioned Goodman's passing. The wife, kid, and I spent a good part of this morning watching some clips of his performances on the computer. He was a hell of a guitarist, too - my wife mentioned his smile. Good stuff.

Steve Goodman wrote some great, funny songs.

How do you like the new Cline,Berne, Black disk, $3.63? I haven't gotten around to get it, yet. -
Nice interview, now I understand why Dave Douglas is playing Solid Sound. Margherita needs to book him in Chicago more often.
-
It's a good version, nice long slide solo by Rich. Before the song, Chris mentions that they recently played the song with Gregg Allman and they have been playing it since.
-
It's nice sounding tape. Nice banter: "You know you are in Los Angeles, when you smell the expensive stuff."
-
Somebody uploaded this show recently, a Chicago radio station played this show back then and I taped it. I misplaced it ages ago - it nice to hear again. I think I like the present sounding Crowes more, though.

Never heard of Pancake, before. He seems interesting, I will check my neighborhood book stores, today. It's been music bio's over the last few weeks.
-
It's great that he is passing through Chicago and Lincoln Hall is a great venue, too.

White Sox’ Mark Buehrle says he may have a few more years left (Sun-Times) Hopefully he sticks with the White Sox, too. One of my all time favorite players. Great quote:

I always chuckle when I hear Dylan sings the below:

Yeah, I missed them - stupid work computer with no speakers.

Sounds good - you should put the info in LouieB's Going to Chicago thread. I can't remember the last time I was in Cicero.

Did you make it to any of the days, Lou? We made it for a few hours Sat. afternoon. Nice crowd, decent music. Lot's of older people there, who sneaked in their beer which made me laugh a bit. A good mix of crowd, though. These guys will be playing here in Chicago on June 28th with Material re-Issue (formerly MaterialIssue) - a free show. Should be fun. I suppose I should write that I am drudging through an eight disc set of The Stones "Satanic Sessions". Some of it is interesting.
