  1. Got the below from the DMG Newsletter for June 3rd, 2011 - should be great.
  2. Maybe he should stick to general managing my niece's t-ball team. I do admire him for sticking up for his player, though. On a side note, hopefully the White Sox can keep it going against the Tigers this weekend.
  3. I agree with everything you wrote, except I wouldn't call it a cheap shot. Cousin's didn't know that Posey wasn't going to catch it cleanly, so he had to go in hard and try to knock the ball out.
  4. The throw was a little off mark. Cousins was well within the baseline, might of went towards the front of the plate, where Posey was, a bit, but still a clean hard slide. It's unfortunate that Posey was injured.
  5. Pierzynski nearly falls into president's lap (whitesox.com link) He should have caught it.
  6. I think I have to agree with anthonyc007, Blood on the Tracks is my favorite of Dylan's, followed by John Wesley Harding. Of course, my favorites change weekly.
  7. Nice to see the White Sox sweep the Indians. Asdrubal Cabrera made a hell of a play last night. MLB Video
  8. Great set of music, plus always has been one of my favorite album covers.
  9. I am about half way through Skydog: The Duane Allman Story - a lot of info/stories regarding studios in Muscle Shoals. It's a good read, thus far.
  10. is what looks like an "official" video of Comfortably Numb with Gilmour. Looks and sounds great.
  11. Who knows who wrote it. At the end of the day I guess it doesn't matter, because your are right, Dylan did okay it. I would have left it alone. Fuck the people who were opposed.
  12. Seeing them all drunk at the bar was pretty funny and Ron giving the young girl student a land mine cracked me up. Last week's Community was funnier than last night's, I didn't catch Office.
  13. That release seems a bit odd - probably not needed. I didn't understand all the flack he was getting from some of the people in the press. Nice to get some background on the tour, though.
  14. ABC link My dad smoked heavily for 60 years and quit about 4 years ago. He doesn't talk about it and I don't ask. All the nagging my mom gave him over the years, it amazed me that he kept smoking for so long (or continued to stick around - she was as relentless as the smoke wafting throughout our house.) It is great going over to my parents house and not having to smell like smoke when I leave. Good luck, Oceanman.
  15. I looking forward to the little road trip from Chicago, I imagine it's a pretty nice drive. I was surprised to get great seats.
  16. The Grateful Dead's Golden Road and Beyond Description box sets are great. Pavement reissues are great, though I did not have many of the originals so I can't compare them to the originals.
  17. Thanks for the reminder - completely forgot. Got 10th row center. Should be a nice over night trip - never been up in that area before. Fitting WXRT just started to play You and I as am typing this.
  18. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vuoo6Y16x0s&feature=player_embedded#at=142 Here is a clip of Jagger and Richards talking about Atlantic Records and Muscle Shoals. It has some of the footage that LouieB and I were talking about. Jagger's impersonation of Ahmet Ertegun is pretty funny. My older sister was/is a huge Bob Seger fan, I remember that Night Moves, Stranger in Town, and The Distance were played a shit load around the house when I was kid. I never realized that he recorded at Muscle Shoals before I went through the link that LouieB provide.
  19. I don't know what they did, I guess I need to check some of my Stones' books.
  20. When I think of Muscle Shoals, I think of The Stones' songs Brown Sugar and Wild Horses. There is some great footage in the Gimme Shelter dvd of Muscle Shoals.
  21. In the Dylan/Hunter Houston tune, there is the below line: The Mexican War was between 1846-48. Benson was county sheriff of Harris County, Texas, from Dec. 1918 to Jan. 1, 1937. This would make the Candyman character in his 80s, if he was at least 10 years old during the war, which is possible, I guess.
