  1. Well, of course. Chicago Tribune/Reuters Link
  2. I think the story is just what the video depicts. I think the video of the woman grabbing the ball happen a few days before the video of the "selfless" kid. Two opposite stories in the same week, so to speak.
  3. The management, label, and publicist (don't forget, the band) were profiting from her - why would they want her to die? The drugs and alcohol were hindering her from making more money - they all had vested interest in her getting help/well.
  4. Listening to another audience show this weekend - 6.24.70. Someone uploaded all the sources (including the NRPS sets) - what a long day/night that must of been. Garcia's pedal steel is pretty prominent during the New Rider's sets.
  5. That's a shame. I did catch her at a Lolla - she was a bit out of it (and came on late), but her band was great.
  6. I just find it dopey that they bill it as: "The Wilco “loft”, Jay Bennett v. Jeff Tweedy, and the saga of Yankee Hotel Foxtrot". I just noticed that the tour is focusing on the years between 1980-2002, so it makes sense.
  7. Butch Trucks' Blog Just noticed this blog. He actually wrote a nice thing about Dickey. Actually so far his blog is more political, which is fine.
  8. Actually I was thinking of Tweedy when I posted - he is a lot better about things now, except if cell phones are involved.
  9. I would think about 99% of lead singers have gotten pissey on stage at one time.
  10. I always enjoyed Corrina and Eternity. I often listen to the Disk 5 of the So Many Roads set, I guess they could have thrown some more of the new unreleased songs in the set. But I'm guessing, perhaps their last songs did not hold up to those on the rest of the set.

Wilcobase Link Looks like it has been played 24 times. Pretty even mix of Tweedy solo and full band performances.
  12. I guess that would make sense, I think the gap between Go To Heaven and In the Dark was their longest.
  13. When I got into college in 1990, a kid on my floor had the tapes of one of the above shows. At this point, I did not have many tapes and I was a bit of newbie - When I was listening to the tapes I was surprised to hear Touch of Grey and Throwing Stones, since it was a 1982 show, of course as time went by and I started to figure out this was a pretty common practice for them.
  14. I did catch some of the stream through out the weekend, Pitchfork did a good job with it. That rap group on Sunday afternoon was something else - sheesh.
  15. They sure took a long time to tune/break between songs in 1970 - listening to 11.8.70 - great show. Haven't purchased a Road Trip cd in a while, I think I am going to get this latest one. I don't have many 82 shows.
  16. Well it looks like I will finally see a show at the Ryman. Bit bummed because I had a ticket in Section 7 /Row D/Seat 5, which is basically the front row and lost them in a computer snafu. Oh well, I did end up with a decent ticket.
  17. That's cool. I remembering getting Murhpy's rookie card when I was a kid, it was one of my most prized possessions for a while. Even bought a special case for it. All my cards are still at my parents house - need to dig them out. Nice to know he has a good taste in music.
  18. Friday is the only day that is appealing to me, if I didn't have to work, I would probably head there. But as it is, I couldn't get there until after 6pm or so.
  19. Yeah one would think I would have learned that after the first vacation attempt, but the 2nd attempt was during a trip to the Mesa Verde area and I figured the scenery would be a good fit with the book, but it kinda had the opposite affect.
  20. Styx also didn't want to wait for DeYoung to get over an illness before a tour, they went out without him, though there were other issues going on, too.
  21. I tried reading Blood Meridian a few times and gave up - need to try again. On two of the occasions, I brought the book on vacation with me and realized its not much of a vacation read.
  22. That' great - nothing here, oh well.
