  1. Speaking of Williams: GM: $30M for 1 player 'asinine' Kinda have to agree with him, but I am sure next year Pujols will get it from someone.
  2. Only caught the last 45 minutes or so, but it was good stuff, esp. the last song. Whoever was responsible for the web-cast, deserves kudos, too. It sounded and looked great. Too bad they are not swinging through Chicago.
  3. When my alarm went off this morning, WXRT just started to play "Can't Stand It". Nice way to wake up
  4. Poor wording on my part, I meant that you agreed that they should not loose their rights.
  5. I agree and I would suspect some (perhaps even a slight majority) of public employees agree, but that doesn't mean that unions should loose their collective bargaining rights, which I see in a few posts down you kinda agree with. I guess there are two issues here: 1. Pay/Benefits and 2. Collective Bargaining Rights. Does the pension system have to be severely restructured, yes, but I don't think the workers need to loose their rights in order to do it. Should unions give up some of what they fought for, perhaps yes (and many unions have), but they should be able to get to the table and do so.
  6. I guess I don't see your point. Do you think the above notion is lost on those in Madison and the rest of the country, who are fighting for what the earned? Definitely something has to give on both sides, but I don't think it's right to presume that people who are fighting for their own worker's rights don't realize that private sector workers (which includes me) are also hurting.
  7. I was always too much of a chicken to do any of that ramp stuff.
  8. I did flip over my Scrabbler's handle bars and got a concussion. Spent a couple nights in the hospital. Did they even make bike helmets in the early 80s? At least I missed a few days of school.
  9. I think Teddy Roosevelt did and I kinda think Reagen did, too. Maybe not specifically state union workers though, which is probably your point.
  10. Well I definitively wasn't tough looking, I was a small, skinny torpe , though I always wore a flannel and jeans like my older sister's friends. Mine had a chain guard, too. Always hated getting my jeans stuck in the chain. I googled The Raleigh Chopper, I forgot all about those - man that was some bike. My brother first bike the the Tornado.
  11. Except mine was black and had a padded seat (always hated the hard plastic ones). It was around 78/79. I was the last among my friends to get a bike, I couldn't part with my big wheel. A few of my friends had a Huffy Bandit.
  12. Unfortunately, he has a lot of bad habits - money management being one of them. Obviously he didn't really start rolling in the dough until the late 80s or early 90s, but still he should have more money. I browsed over it (at my local Borders, none the less) - it seems like it could be read in one rainy Sat. afternoon.
  13. As for the people of WI views on things, I guess it should be noted that Feingold (a pro labor senator) was voted out, which I think was rather unfortunate. But I think the union/gov't workers have a uphill battle on persuading their fellow Wisconsinites.
  14. On his latest show he talks about how him and Jagger wrote "No Use In Crying" while they were in Linda Ronstadt's cupboard in Malibu. Being a Stones geek, I enjoy these types of stories. It seems that Wood is one of most affable rock stars - it seems he played or partied with everyone. I haven't gotten around to read his auto-bio, yet.
  15. Ronnie Wood Radio Show Only listen to a bits and pieces of the show, but they are pretty decent.
  16. Finished The 42nd Parallel and now into 1919. Great stuff. The book has been on my shelf for awhile, glad I finally started to read it. The whole concept works well.
  17. That's great news - I finally gotten around and ordered the disc this morning.
