Noticed this today on Chicagoist: http://chicagoist.com/2009/06/21/jeff_tweedy_wrangles_up_a_benefit_s.php

He seemed harmless. (annoying yes.)

Yeah, I was kinda waiting for the guy to fall into the table (a la Farley).

That's great. I see nothing wrong with that. Gotta love Dio, the first one to reach out his hand. I think you posted the video of Dio talking about the fans, this video documents it pretty well.

That's a bummer, MB. Thanks for the review. Gotta love those Midwest outdoor early summer shed shows. The weather always a factor. I'm glad you enjoyed what you saw of the show and the scene. I always liked Moma Dance. Split too.

http://midcenturyspace.blogspot.com/ This person had it on a blog (midway down). It seems that it is sold, perhaps the person knows of another source. edit: I just notice it was a moving sale, so perhaps the person will not know of another source.

It seems like every show thus far this tour has been augmented, due to time. Perhaps they can start a bit earlier. Damn curfews.

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/15/arts/music/15virgin.html?_r=1 (found the link on Ken Vandermark's site) It looks the Virgin Mega store in Union Square officially closed. I don't think I ever bought anything at a Virgin store. I bought The Complete Miles Davis At Montreux at some chain store that was located on Wabash (under the El) in Chicago. I think it might have been a Virgin...now this is bugging me, Louie(or anyone) do which store I am talking about, it has since closed. edit: It was a Tower on Wabash, not a Virgin. Still, I think that was the only time I purchased something at

That's Springsteen impression is great, I think he just needed a Telecaster to make it more so.

It looks like it will include the 6/18 Eyes and jam out of 01. They are really getting these Road Trips out pretty fast and furious.

http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/showthread.php?t=73467 Someone posted the video of their 6.12.09 show over at the Traders Den. The youtube clip looks pretty good.

very nice now:

Alfred's nose looks like an extra mouth (or a set of lips). Camels are sure weird looking animals.

Wasn't there a Prog Rock type thread going on somewhat recently. I did a quick search and came up empty, but I swore there was something similar. (Not saying a new one can't be started) edit: I think I am thinking of this one http://forums.viachicago.org/topic/28846-the-genesis-thread/page__hl__Genesis

The drunk thing was a bit of a joke on my part. This is one reunion, I would rather not see happening. Rod certainly does not need the money (I don't think) and I agree that his voice is not a strong as it once was, though recovering from cancer certainly would hinder any singer's voice. Ronnie Lane, for me, was a huge factor to the Faces, once he left the band, they seem to have lost it a bit. So if there is no Lane, I don't see a point of a reunion. I wouldn't mind Mac hooking up with Ronnie Wood and Kenny Jones and doing some gigs. Chris Robinson is busy with the Crowes these days, but p

Nice review. Hope some of the people over 'Bring your Kids to a Concert' thread don't read it, though.

I think a drunk Rod, bodes very well for Faces performance. I wouldn't have any other way. Perhaps they will build another bar for their stage.

I wish I would have seen her at club, but I only saw her at festival-type settings. I must admit as I read your comment here in this thread and I thought Joe Cocker died ,too; then I went into the Cocker thread... I posted the news when it broke on a Stones board (Via Chicago was obliviously down) and it sunk pretty quick. Guess no one listen's to the blues much anymore, but I suppose I fall in that category. She definitely was a blue's, as well as Chicago, force and a great singer. It's great she was performing pretty much up to the time she passed.

bbop, thanks for the back logged reviews/set lists. I was wondering what they have been playing.

I just started to think of heading to the Cincy show (why I did not have this thought before - I don't know). They only have tickets left in the upper balcony, pretty much last row or so. I have never been to a show there. Would these ticket's be completely high up there (I'm thinking high up there like Auditorium Theater in Chicago balconies). Of course I am assuming that one of the times you saw Wilco in Cincinnati was at the Aronoff.

I was lucky enough to be at the show that day. I made a previous comment regarding the pictures that someone posted of the last show agreeing that they did not look like they were having fun...now that I thought about it bit more, they might of looked like that because is was your typical humid Chicago 4th of July at the Petrillo Music Shell, where the concrete emits heat on a cool day. It was a great show from what I remember. I finally listened to the show again this past weekend.
