  1. I am definitely not condoning what Brazile did - but I am pretty sure it is a somewhat common thing - perhaps networks shouldn't have political operatives on their panels or at the very least not give the operative's the god damn questions. Guessing any operative would have done the same thing and I am sure they do - she just got caught via a WikiLeak.
  2. I made it to the 8th - I thought when the Astros took the lead again - that would be it...
  3. Eddie mashup with Angry Bird this week --- so it's been an Iron Maiden DVD marathon this morning. Mostly fast forwarding to the Eddie parts for my kid. 'Scream for me Long Beach'
  4. Came home to find Dave's 24 in my box - wasn't expecting to get it today. Perfect Friday afternoon listening. A hot Promise Land - Keith is a rockin' Interesting Stella Blue, Jerry rushes it a bit -- guess this must be one of the earlier versions.
  5. My friend wrote an op-ed for the New YorK Times - clearly depicting the difference between Bush and Trump's policy on immigration. Trump's stance is not based on protection/defense - but hate/fear. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/10/25/opinion/prosecution-terrorists-bush-iran.html?rref=collection%2Fsectioncollection%2Fopinion&action=click&contentCollection=opinion&region=stream&module=stream_unit&version=latest&contentPlacement=2&pgtype=sectionfront
  6. This show was released - Dave's Picks Volume 7: Horton Field House, Illinois State, Normal, 4/24/78
  7. Yeah - just Geddy. Sorry about that.
  8. I think Rush is on that Dan Rather interview show this week, too.
  9. Too bad you didn't catch the DeKalb show -- a bit furthur from St. Louis than Normal is - but doable. When I started collecting tapes, my main suppliers all went to NIU.
  10. Definitely one my firsts, too. I tend to listen to the NIU show (10/29/77) more - but 11/6 is a good one, too.
  11. Did you make it to the Aragon - if so, wouldn't mind hearing about how the show sounded.
  12. I think this is cooking bacon thread -- listening to Fresh Air and Anthony Bourdain is on it - his preferred method of cooking bacon is via the oven - take that Winston.
  13. Tha't cool. Listened to Echo for the 1st time while driving around the city - a real solid record. Rockin'
  14. I normally go to the below --- not up to date and I don' think there are any tabs --- so I not really sure why I am posting - anyways http://www.gumbopages.com/wilco.html http://www.gumbopages.com/uncle-tupelo.html
  15. 2005 was fun. The below was one of my favorite moments against Boston, when El Duque got of the 6th in Game 3 with the base loaded and no outs. I kept a poor dude delivery my food waiting at my building' front door, so I could watch him get the last out. Exciting stuff. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0s7svX1lY0
  16. Well you're from Boston - so that I understand. I still think a Yankee/Dodger series would be a great one, though.
  17. I didn't think hating each of these team was still a thing. Both teams seems like it a nice balance of well paid veterans and younger guys -- unlike many of the previous Yankee/Dodger teams (esp. Yankees.) I guess people tend to hate large market teams.
  18. Yeah - that's what I am thinking. As stated, parts of this show was missing from the vault - perhaps they used the recently received Betty stash to fill it in. Maybe the liner notes will shed some light.
  19. Guess it would be cool to have a Yankee/Dodger world series. Old School. It's great to see Todd Frazier producing and having fun --- for the past few years he had the fun down pat - but not the producing.
  20. Yeah - Bear was released that summer -- but according to the Relix article - 8/25/72 is a Betty Board. I always assumed a 'Betty Board' meant it was recorded by her -- perhaps that's not the case or the Relix article is incorrect. https://www.relix.com/news/detail/the_betty_boards_are_now_in_the_grateful_dead_vault Read more: https://www.relix.com/news/detail/the_betty_boards_are_now_in_the_grateful_dead_vault#ixzz4voLqK4Mo
  21. I guess it was recorded by Bear, but it was part of the recent Betty board retrieval. So she just had the board, but she didn't record it? I guess I am confused. from dead.net This complete show was recorded by Owsley "Bear" Stanley, has been mastered to HDCD specs by Jeffrey Norman, and features photos by Michael Parrish, tour notes from the road, and original illustrations from Dave Van Patten.
  22. He even looks like a fuck-wad --- I never heard any of there music, either - but I suppose that is not the point. You would think it wouldn't be too hard for the dude to find a consensual companion after a show -- but like my wife tells me - most of these types don't get off on the whole consensual angle of the things - hence they do what they do...
  23. Agreed with production - Don Was can't even mildly under-produce anything - I was a bit afraid when I saw that he was involved, but by 'Was-Standard' - I thought its sounded okay.
  24. NIce interview with Devon Allman - Gregg's kid. http://artsatl.com/devon-allman-talks-grief-memories-late-fathers-southern-blood/ I have listened to Gregg's last solo record and I think it is pretty good. I have not been much of fan of his solo output. Also watched All My Friends: Celebrating the Songs & Voice of Gregg Allman - typically I do not enjoy these type of releases, but this one was pretty good, also --- much, much better than the Dear Jerry: Celebrating The Music Of Jerry Garcia.
