  1. Wishing you the best. Downloading now.
  2. Oh, I was kidding. We have been going there on a yearly basis until we started having kids -- we figured at age 6 and 4 they are now finally old enough to fend for themselves against all the forces of nature.
  3. Finally made our 1st family trip to Colorado in June - kid's were troopers while camping and hiking. Almost made it to a top of mountain (Lily Mountain Trail), but the 4 year petered out with a 1/4 mile to go or so. It was a blast of a hike, though. Thinking of camping/hiking out east next year, but no plans set.
  4. Looks good - downloaded about 4 other ones, haven't had a chance to listened to any of them, yet. Did listen to Set 1 of 1995-05-17 Los Angeles, CA ('Amoricans') last night.
  5. I listened to it once via Spotify - it's okay.
  6. I am hoping for no openers - but i did enjoy the way they did it last time - it was a good idea.
  7. That 66 book (above) is definitely a worth while book - the parts on the last tour were pretty detailed.
  8. They sure nailed the Jack Straw. Still haven't seen these guys, yet. Hopefully they pass through Chicago again at some point. I am not sure how they draw here, they always play a venue (Concord Music Hall) that is not that great and where security has rep. for being tough. I know their venue choice is the reason why I haven't seen them yet -- for the sound reasons, on my part - at this point in my life I don't care about security and such, but I know some do. That being all said, my wife saw the Violent Femmes at the Concord this past summer and she said it sounded fine.
  9. My favorite is probably "Love in Vain" - the Stones' version off of Ya-Ya's. Of course the lryics are from Robert Johnson - the last verse is one of his best. Jagger sings it great.
  10. Yeah, my seven old year is getting there -- it's was about 50/50 by the end of last summer.
  11. Did end up buying tickets to the Sat. Wrigley show. Last show of the tour - should be interesting. Still, would definitely rather hang out in a lot, than Wrigleyville. I think it will be hard to play Frisbee on Clark and Addison. Just need to make sure we are back downtown by 12:50am to get the last train out and we will be good to go.
  12. Listened to Songs for Drella this morning - I think for the first time, at least I don't remember listening to it before. Really great record.
  13. Nice speech. Guess one can say he heard all those critical of him getting the award - Shakespeare and Dylan are now both in the alley. http://www.relix.com/blogs/detail/read_bob_dylans_gracious_nobel_prize_acceptance_speech_in_full
  14. I was at that Red Rocks show - cold night. I saw the same bill in St. Louis in 1999 - I thought the 99 show was better. Stipe and obviously Tweedy both have a Southern IL connection and they both played with a bit of chip on their shoulders, that night.
  15. Were you peeing in the woman's bathroom sink, again???
  16. Yeah - those UT reissues were good --- esp. since my original cds were beat to hell.
  17. Next year will be the 30 Anniversary of the trio changing their name to Uncle Tupelo. Reunion Time! Also Garden and Gun is a pretty cool name for mag.
  18. Notice those shows - haven't downloaded them, yet. I enjoyed the latest releases -- granted I borrowed them both from my library and did not purchase them ---- though my philosophy on that sort of stuff, is that my tax dollars help purchase it...and I am sticking with that philosophy until my kids are out of private pre-school/day care and such).
  19. Interesting video for CRB's ""Forever As The Moon" tune -- have been on a Game of Thrones kick the last two weeks, so it reminds of the show. Really starting to like this group, which makes the Crowes' hiatus/ending easier. Need to catch a Rich show at some point... http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/rock/7597391/chris-robinson-brotherhood-video-forever-as-the-moon-alan-forbes
  20. Below is link from the archive of the debuts of covers that the Grateful Dead performed - as Lammy stated lots of styles/genres/musicians/etc. https://archive.org/details/GratefulDeadCoverSongDebuts66-95
  21. Agree with Mad Men - esp. the first few seasons -- it did seem to loose some steam, though - but well worth watching the entire run. I am in the never watched the Wire series camp. I think it is on Netflix or Prime, maybe a new series for us to watch in the new year. Just finished Season 2 of Mr. Robot, which was great (and depressing and freaky). Also on the last episode of Season 6 of Game of Thrones - another great season.
  22. Sale is awesome, but I am fine with the trade. Hopefully it pans out for the White Sox - definitely received some great players in return.
