You should have an edit option on your posts, when reading through the thread it's in the bottom right corner of each of the posts you put on the board. Welcome to VC, by the way. --Mike

Yes, Jeff said "this is from our new album What I hate about rock and roll (pause) and what I love about it," as he introduced Let's Not Get Carried Away at the Tall Stacks Festival in Cincinnati in 2006. --Mike

Sad to see this news. Diddley was wonderful, RIP, sir. --Mike

W*lco Happens and dbPm (though this was actually a seperate project) were rumored titles for A Ghost is Born. --Mike

What you want to do is hit the control key on your keyboard and then click on the blue link files, that's the mac way of right clicking. Azureus should work fine for converting the files on owl and bear from FLAC or SHIN to WAV files which almost everything plays, I use a free program I grabbed called xACT for my conversions. I have a Mac laptop. --Mike

I just watched Woody Allen's Husbands and Wives a few days ago. Sad to see this news. --Mike

I always have to read this every couple months, I even got this signed by Mr. Eggers in Pittsburgh, he drew me a floating ball of flesh, good times. --Mike

That's a great list and I am proud to say I have almost all of those albums (not the boxsets). Thanks for sharing. --Mike

Who's a better songwriter (Let's make it interesting):

This was quite difficult, but it's McCartney by a hair for me. While he has some songs that flat out suck, McCartney at his best is pretty tough to beat. I'd have Lennon, Davies and Harrison in that order just under him. Paul Simon would be in between Davies and Harrison for me, by the way, though his appearance in Annie Hall might be worth him getting the nod over Ray. --Mike -
Glad to hear he's doing all right, Donna. Hope all is well. I've got night two cued up now, Muzzle of Bees sounds wonderful. --Mike

Yeah, Kalle I agree with you. Basically since AM every Wilco album has had a couple curveballs that I certainly remember thinking "what the hell are they doing here?" when I first heard them. Misunderstood and Sunken Treasure on Being There. The end of She's a Jar and Via Chicago on Summerteeth. The noise-segments in YHF, the guitar breakdowns on AGIB. Sky Blue Sky doesn't really have anything on that's that different from Wilco has done in the past, and there aren't any curveball sections in the record and for a band that's established itself as constantly being willing to taking to risks, le

I grew up watching the Lemieux/Jagr-era Pens, so I'm pulling for them, but I think the Wings will probably pull it out in 6. --Mike

Do you have Quicktime? If you click on the show it brings it up in your quicktime player. If not you should be able to download a free version of the Apple/Itunes site. --Mike

This one and I loved it. I've been meaning to watch Noah Baumbach's debut Kicking and Screaming, as I myself I am graduating from college in a few days, but it might be a little too painful. --Mike

1. Autumn Sweater 2. Blue Line Swinger 3. Let's Save Tony Orlando's House 4. Sugarcube 5. Today is the Day (rock version) --Mike

The shows they did in support of the Down With Wilco album (all three of them) are fantastic. Scott has some unforgettable banter moments. --Mike

I picked this up in January and have been listening to it quite a bit this year. Really good sound, O'Rourke has a knack for great arrangements. It's probably my favorite record of his. --Mike

This is the BBC Radio 2 documentary that was mentioned in the article, haven't checked it out quite yet, but will give it a listen later today. Who Knows Where The Time Goes

This is close enough to the truth for it to not be blasphemy in my mind. Newman at his peak was fucking amazing. --Mike -

Okay, big confession time. Not only do I like Nico's voice, if I had to pick at gun point between any Velvet Underground album and Chelsea Girl, I'd probably take Chelsea Girl. And yes, Royal Tenenbaums is my favorite movie of all time. Also, I think that based on Box of Rain alone the Grateful Dead are forgiven for any other possible music crimes (even Touch of Grey, which actually isn't that bad a tune in my humble opinion). Phish's Waste also evens them out, and Billy Breathes is a much better record than it'll ever be given credit for. The Band are better than the Beatles, if you don'
