heard from a friend today that UCSD has more or less been shut down, midterms cancelled, etc. she is on her way to UCLA tonight for the rest of the week i think... im supposed to go to San Diego for a sailing regatta this weekend, not sure whats happening with that...last i heard we were still on because the fires are all further inland, but who knows. this is crazy

i came close to joining oink many many times..glad i never followed through. tv-links, however, was a god send. id watch movies with japanese subtitles any day with no complaint so long as it helped me avoid my work

aww congratulations!! an interesting song choice to pop the question... haha was that planned or did it just so happen to be that song? wow, i predicted the andrew bird jumping in on jesus etc at some point on this tour but never would have thought he'd get so much stage time with the guys! thats fantastic. must have really added something special to those songs..i cant even imagine

yeah, there's this path right behind Northwestern in Evanston that runs along the lake...it's lit by these huge streetlamps at night, made the colors really incredible

reminds me of a story from earlier this year when a kid at UCLA got tasered 5 times for not cooperating with the police when they asked him to present his student ID in the library after hours...he claimed it was racial profiling, and a huge scene ensued. video

yeah there was, it was smaller and had dandelions going across it..thats all i remember. i was in a good mood all day thanks to the weather--could you ask for a more perfect night? it was beautiful! the setlist was just outstanding, i expected one or two 'surprises' but they really decided to stick it to the chicago crowd..such a fun night. good to see familiar faces, and new ones too! i have a handful of photos, but they are in desperate need of some editing..here are a few until i find the time to tackle the rest eventually they'll all be up here..
