I didn't see this thread yesterday! Sloan put up a great live set on Bandcamp, still worth getting IMO.

How great was The Long Cut?? One of my favourite Tupelo songs. According to Wilco World that was only the second time Jeff has played it since the year 2000 (though I suspect he's played it at some Living Room Shows at some point).

Quality in both sound and picture definitely took a dive after the call. For the most part it was fine during talking but as soon as music started things decreased. Going to wifi helped a bit but not much. Quality is always worse when a guest is called in but tonight it never seemed to go back to normal. If whatever was causing the issue was in Instagram I do think that restarting the feed would have helped. I guess maybe Susie was worried about losing viewers but most people would come back, I'm sure. I believe she screen records directly on the phone so the YouTube video tomorrow should be g

Nice to see Via Chicago getting mentioned on the show tonight!

I know after last night's show a lot of people are claiming I don't know the lyrics to Sunken Treasure because I typed in chat "I was saved by rock and roll" during the last verse instead of maimed/tamed/got my name. This theory that I would make such an egregious mistake is obviously not true. Of course I know the lyrics. I was just riffing and doing my own thing, I can't help it if musical improvisation comes naturally to me. I'll have no further comment on this matter at this time, thank you.

I liked Jeff's idea about doing the Vic shows online. Streaming over Instagram would be fine, they could restart the stream at the end of the first hour. Streaming on YouTube or Twitch would be even better. No time limit and it would be easier for most folks to watch on TV and they can set it up so people can donate direct from the stream on a web browser.

Looks like it was an issue on IG's end. It's on YouTube now: http://youtu.be/RUkxDIZeeDw

Great recap as usual u2roolz. Also interesting that Ode to Joy was almost named Half Life but Sammy fought against it. If I had to guess it was because of the legendary video game series. Jeff and Susie's discussion about Paul reminded me of the old question about a tree falling in the woods with no one around to hear it, if a Wilco show happened without Paul there... did it really happen?

Deep cuts tonight! Shakin' Sugar is especially interesting, when did Jeff play that last? It always felt to me like the Jay heavy songs (Shakin Sugar, My Darling, Venus Stopped The Train) went with Jay when he left or at least like Jeff avoids playing them.

I disagree. If these are two previews of an upcoming Dylan album, I would be very excited for it.

Coronavirus Expert Says Concerts Won’t Return Until “Fall 2021 At The Earliest” Hopefully wrong but I can't really see how concerts can come back without a vaccine being developed and distributed. This is what I was worried about when I saw shows like Wilco's Portland gigs getting rescheduled for this November. Hopefully some leaders like Trudeau will offer stimulus packages directly for musicians, their crews, and venues but I can't see Trump doing that. Then again, this will be bigger than just music as sports, theatre, cinema, will all be affected. If a year to 18 months is the quickest va

Interesting that last night Jeff thought they were scheduled to play Winnipeg Folkfest like John Prine was. They were not on the lineup unveiled in March and they just played Winnipeg before everything got shut down. The concert was promoted by WPG Folkfest so maybe that's where the confusion was or maybe Jeff let slip some top secret info. The Fest isn't cancelled yet so we'll see.

Thanks for the recap u2roolz. I think that was the best Tweedy Show yet. The one-two-three punch of Someday Some Morning Sometime -> One True Vine -> Wait Up was great. It's great seeing Jeff in a setting where he's comfortable playing his deepcuts. I noticed he introduced One True Vine as a song he wrote for Mavis, but I remember when it was a Sky Blue Sky b-side!! Spencer coming in out of nowhere on drums for that was fantastic.

3M faces pressure from Trump order to stop exporting N95 masks to Canada Wow, absolutely shameful of Trump and the US as a whole.

What is the name of the John Prine songs Jeff did last night??

Pro tip: if you tap the middle of the screen, you can lessen the amount of messages you see, just two rows instead of the usual 5 IIRC.

This is great. I was beginning to think we wouldn't get any more original Dylan songs.

They'd have to figure out how to do broadcast crews. For things like golf, most of that would be done in a mobile production van, so it's designed to have the audio, switcher, director, etc etc in a very small confined place. Even studio control rooms are tight, I suspect that's why shows like Colbert and Seth Myers are doing segments from home and not in the studio without an audience.

I noticed Wilco hasn't been promoting the Sleater-Kinney tour lately. I suppose even those shows are in jeopardy at this point.

Orville Peck did a great session last night and did a new song. He streamed on Instagram, YouTube, and Twitch, so it was nice being able to easily get it up on the TV. -
I can't believe that didn't happen earlier. Any word back from your test??

Courtney covering Jesus Etc right now on Instagram. -
Time to jump on Boss_Tweedy, with Facebook you already have the worst social media in your life, Instagram is the least evil. I mean, don't get me wrong, it's still evil, for sure. Both have the same ownership but I think the IG community is a bit better. Sometimes.
