Rob and I LOVED the Santa Barbara Wharf. We had one of the best dinners we've ever had at "Moby Dick's" unfortunate restaurant, with loads of Tequila and Newcastle Brown Ale

Sorry to hear that. Granparents are SO precious >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Ok, touche. That is definitely not one of JMS' crowning achievements Like I said, it's all a matter of taste. If Bruce is regarded as good as Dylan, fine (that said, I don't particularly think Dylan is that brilliant either, although a lot better than The Boss). Also if Jeff regards Bruce as better than himself (I'd beg to differ ). I guess I just like the more subtle lyrics better than e.g. "We go down to the River and into the river we dive" which is basically a good cross-section as to what his lyrics are like IMHO. Just for the record: "The River" is one of my favorite songs ever. E

Well, I am sorry if you feel personally insulted by someone not worshipping Bruce's lyrics, but it's not gonna change my opinion, which says "his lyrics are weak, compared to e.g. Jeff's or Michael Stipe's" (I maybe should have pointed that out more!)". It's all a matter of taste, really. You shouldn't get so upset

I astonishingly quite like this album. The second half is a bit weak, especially the title track, but "Girls in their summer clothes" is easily one of my favorite songs in general at the moment, as well as "Last To Die". Of course the lyrics aren't outstanding, but since when have Bruce's lyrics been brilliant anyway?

What is your favorite 4 second piece of Wilco music?
pillowy star replied to ction's topic in Just A Fan

Awwww thank you all! I had indeed a lovely day, Tara burst into happy tears when she saw the surprise Rob and I had for her - a completely renovated room (formerly mainly blue) in pink-red-leopard look - my parents were relaxed for a change (a true miracle!!), even my brother came , loads of homemade Indian and Thai food, tickets to see Meat Loaf in October.........it was a nice birthday, and now I am gonna tuck into Donna's cake if you don't mind

Well, I share custody with my ex husband for our 17 year old daughter too, which means in fact that she is ruling our time schedules and decides where she wants to be when *sigh*. There are problems, but whenever one occurs, I address him, not the police/lawyers/child care. I have been left alone over the weekend when I was 13 with a newborn baby and a 9 year old lunatic who on top of that had severe oxygen supply aka breathing problems, so I think a 8 year old and a 11 year old can manage, if the neighbours aren't too far away. In my opinion it is wrong to treat a probably well-meant atte

German gingerbread. It's in the stores already -
Summerteeth is my favorite Wilco album and will always be. I don't even think it's their best album (that'll be a tie between AGIB and SBS), it's just that it suits me personally best.

And you are complaining ?!? We've been having temperatures around 10 C and floods of rain for weeks now!! It is f*cking end of August, yet we didn't even have a BBQ at my parents at all this "summer"!! We've planned one for next Sunday (Tara's and my birthday), but we already changed plans as there is no chance to have only a slight fire that serves other purposes than warming your hands Can we swap places for a month? I get the Californian summer plus Tom, Alissa & Brennan (we'll talk later about what I am gonna do with Bob ), and you get the German winter summer plus to put up with -
Happy Birthday Paul! It was a pleasure to do that little road trip with you in May Here are some birthday treats for you : Oh and there's always a room available for you here :
