Not sure, but I think Joshua Tree might have been the last vinyl record I bought (for new releases, I mean). I never bought anything on CD from them. Kind of off-topic here, but one of my favorite 'funny' Phish moments is on their first record (Junta). During Icculus Trey is talking, setting up the story , and he sez, "This is.. this is...THIS IS RED ROCKS!!! THIS IS THE EDGE!!!" That always cracks me up.

Yep. Unforgettable Fire is my favorite.

This thread: 857 posts & counting jnick's thread: 816 wow. just wow.

There's really no particular song that depresses me. I kind of embrace the sadness inherent in some of the tunes. But Radio Cure is the first thing that comes to mind.

Have a great day!!! ps. Talk the old man into coming to Indy next week!

I heard some of this on the radio last night at a friend's house (Alice Cooper radio show). I probably shouldn't say this but it wasn't too bad, actually.
-
I'll be glad to.

It would be a wise investment.

I love their Xmas ale. Never had that one though.

I had a friend who used to have a GD program on the radio in Indy. It put the DeadHour to shame imo. Saturday nights 1AM-6AM, nothing but FULL Dead shows (usually SBDs), and the occasional Phish or SCI show. I stayed up every Saturday night from '00 through '03 or so & got hundreds of hours of killer stuff. You Indy folks know what I'm talking about.

You are correct, sir. It's also the one that really is the gold standard for AUD recordings (at least from that early time frame). I know I'll have to get this. I have no choice, ya know?

I agree. I have yet to ever hear either of those tracks you mention. this is great news!

Has Jeff Tweedy ever talked about Huey Lewis?

I know that's what you meant to say. -
I knew you were my people.

It boggles my mind that the hard-core Right seems to believe anything outside of deportation of 12 million people qualifies as amnesty. I don't know what the answer is, but the buiding of a wall saddens me....I always think of our old pal Ray-Gun saying "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall".

PHIL LESH AND FRIENDS LIVE WEBCAST NOW!

Nice review, and it sounds like a very good show! I read somewhere else that the Low Spark was a monster. Matthew this is such good news! I hope Phil is up for some touring. Scofield is such a great player... no offense to Larry Campbell but he's just not as consistently fluid in the more open-ended stuff imo. -
Excellent news, Maddie! Is there anything better than free Wilco tickets? Maybe, but after all, this is a family forum! Have a great time!

Me & the missus are meeting up with some good friends of ours from Dayton. It will be my buddy's b-day so it should be LARGE. Hey man come a day early if you can!
-
I could be mistaken, but wasn't that around the time that songwriting credits started being broken down individually? Previously, all songs were credited to the whole band.
-
I was so thankful that 40+ pages had passed & no one had mentioned this. Thanks, my brother.

Yes! Unfortunately, our buddy wheelco is probably not gonna make it & he would know the local pubs & such. Any Cincinnasty peeps please weigh in with ideas. ps. You're wearing a dancing banana? That will be fairly easy to spot!

I'm counting down the days!

Even better, the Allman's "Mountain Jam". Dig it, a 35 minute theme song! Imagine what that would do to folks with short attention spans!

If "Mr. Dead" means '74 SBDs, then you definitely get my vote for a mod. My .02
