  1. Uncle Tupelo,11/12/92...Acoustic.Thanks Mike!!
  2. In many respects he is the smiling Buddha of the VC
  3. Underture is perhaps my favorite piece of Who music...if that riff doesn't quicken your pulse rate, you're a droid or something.. I should search the Archives & find the Peter Fucking Townshend appreciation thread..if there isn't one there should be
  4. Sounds like you got a good mom! I feel lucky myself in that regard
  5. Every time I hear the Trojan March (approx. 5,000 times PER GAME) I have a strange desire to hurt people
  6. I was wondering how it's going for Bjorn with the Rasputin costume...that beard gonna be ready for Halloween?
  7. These guys really deserve mention.I know folks love to hate 'em,but I think much of the negativity is more directed at the stereotypical 'head' than the music. others:Runaway Jim,Reba,Run Like An Antelope & especially David Bowie
  8. all's fair Maybe (& this is a LOOONG ways away)if it's ND-OSU for the BCS Championship,we'll have us a friendly little wager
  9. I don't know how they could have possibly lived up to the hype, but Manning-a-Manning was a good game. That offensive pass interference call was questionable...may have been the game right there
  10. America's still the coolest place on Earth...I think
  11. well first things first,eh? but you would think there would be a dramatic effect on the bar scene, esp. where there's live music i don't care too much really but there could come a time when it's unacceptable to smoke anywhere except home (insert flick's smiley here )
  12. A neighboring county has an ordinance that, excepting 21+ Bars, there is no smoking of any kind in any public area, parking lots included(unless you're in your vehicle).I reckon this is the norm in CA & other places, but it's new around these parts...
  13. Less likely? I don't understand....bitchy non-smokers abounding?
  14. 5/11/72 & 12/6/73....seriously, any fan of improvisational music NEEDS these tapes!
  15. Even though LZ hasn't been in heavy rotation for me since high school there will always be a time when I need to hear Dazed & Confused or esp. live Whole Lotta Love. An older cousin of mine let me borrow LZ 1&2 when they came out..I was literally in 1st/2nd grade...had no clue but I knew I loved that shit! Nice to have a mentor
  16. Dylan:Bootleg series,Volume 3."Angelina"...Damn how good can someone be when they can afford to let a song like this lay around in a scrap heap until a 'bootleg' series makes it available 10+ years later
  17. very quiet night here folkies.too many too early?
  18. I'll respectfully disagree there Even though you're in the majority I'm sure regarding the Donna wail on PITB,those '72-'74 versions are some of the best rock music ever imo I just returned from a good buddy's house where he had 5/26/73 Kezar goin' & that's always been a fave of mine. The PITB there just drips with tasty jamming.
  19. whatdisay, thanks for the link I read ahead & didn't read this earlier, shame on me. liberal leaning media, indeed
