  1. I'm actually wearing my K-Settes shirt today. I won't say how many wilco shirts I have but it's an embarrassing number
  2. I really love the early version of Spiders. The performance from Cajun House in Arizona, 3/11/2002. Glenn's opening drumming is killer!
  3. John is ever the gentleman. He's proof of the fact that nice guys actually do finish first.
  4. I would disagree with that as well. There are many high quality audience recordings as well as some sbds here and there. It is cool that the band allows fans to record and trade, but I will also support them by buying the live shows from their site as long as they put them out.
  5. I've never been a huge fan of 'Radio Cure' but the version from this show gave me goosebumps! Thanks for Wilco for offering these sbd shows. I will keep purchasing these as long as they keep putting them out but will also download from the wilco archive as long as they allow those shows to remain up.
  6. snoozy goes back to 2002/2003 I believe. It basically means a really rocking show.
  7. I listened to the recording today on the way home today and now I can step back and say without a doubt that it was a very snoozy show. yeah, that's right, I'm bringing snoozy back!
  8. When I visited the Wilco website today, I noticed the picture on the homepage was from the Charlottesville show. I was way off in the right corner, up against the railing, so I didn't make the crowd pic Charles Harris took a lot of pictures that night; hopefully Wilco will share those with us soon. The staff there was friendly and not overbearing but they were following Wilco's guidelines of not taking photos in the venue to the T. I don't think the band would have minded people taking a picture of the stage setup. Fortunately, I had been following the conversation on the updated Wilco c
  9. Hey folks! Here's the latest installment of the City Maps & Handclaps series. Happy Weekend! http://livewilcollection.blogspot.com/2012/07/city-maps-handclaps-live-wilco-tapers_28.html
  10. The Roots actually opened for Wilco back in 2005 for at least a few shows. They opened for them at Merriweather Post Pavillion, a show which I attended. The Roots were pretty good live; I wouldn't say that I'm crazy about them, but they were definitely an enjoyable opener.
  11. Back in the day, Jeff wore a denim jacket in the middle of summer! I seriously dig that hat of his though. At the Charlottesville show, he was wearing a t-shirt with Mark Twain on it & I'm guessing a quote from Twain underneath. was anyone who was there able to make out what it said?
  12. it would be awesome to have the Avetts tour extensively with Wilco. I actually saw Dr. Dog open for My Morning Jacket @ Starr Hill years ago. I wasn't very impressed with them though. I would certainly be willing to give them another try, but I could take them or leave them.
  13. So the project I have been working on for so long is finally up & running. If you're interested, feel free to subscribe in order to follow future posts and "tapes". Also feel free to share this wherever you feel is appropriate. Have a great weekend! http://livewilcollection.blogspot.com/

  15. very little chatter from Thom, mostly 2 hours of face-melting music. there was a humorous moment during you & whose army where Thom turned around & made a funny face to the crowd then he raised his hands as to pump up the crowd. in the beginning of the second encore, Thom received especially loud applause that he feinted staggering back from shock. spent most of the night in front of Johnny, which delighted the lady friend to no end. Friday, I received an email that WASTE members would be allowed in @ 6. my friend & I showed up at 6:30 and the line was going in. we made our way t

  17. I would agree with the sentiment on Deamer. I also think the band mentally & emotionally on board with how they play and what they write & record. last nights performance of Bodysnatchers was particularly ferocious. I can't wait to see them again in Cambden in 10 days
  18. I was fortunate enough to see Doc several years ago at Merlefest (the festival dedicated to the memory of his son). It is awesome what he was able to do with just a guitar and his voice. Truly talented man. Merlefest was a loving legacy to his son because the festival, despite the size and the amount of acts on the lineup, it still felt like a family atmosphere. It was really neat to see Sam Bush and John Paul Jones on the same stage doing a bluegrass version of 'Whole Lotta Love'. Hopefully Merlefest will continue in the years to come.
  19. In the article about Dick Latava, it mentioned in the first three shows that he suggested for release was the 10/11/77 show from Norman, OK. I had received this show in a trade about seven or eight years ago and even to this day, it's one of my favorite shows. The energy on this show and the songs on the setlist are excellent. There were portions of this show released on an early Road Trips, but it really does deserve a full release.
  20. Hi Diane! long time no see! I didn't listen to her solo stuff for a long time because I'm not usually into that soft jazzy stuff, but hearing a live performance of hers from farm aid a couple of years ago changed my impression of her. The Fall was a different kind of album from her early output.
  21. anytime that Dangermouse is involved, it's likely to get interesting.
  22. Hearing about this today really bummed me out. although I've only been a casual listener to the Beastie Boys, I remember them being one of the first groups I heard outside of the music that I heard at home. It was a tape of License To Ill and hearing Brass Monkey and Paul Revere. I thought he was getting better, so I was shocked to hear this.
  23. after nearly five years since they last played Charlottesville, Wilco are finally returning, I am very excited about this, to say the least. if anyone else from the board is going, get in touch with me if you're interested in meeting up.
