  1. Or, Half Asleep in Frog Pajamas. Robbins is a freak, and I like that. Guy has hung out with some deep people.
  2. If we're gonna include piano as a keyboard I'll include Bruce Hornsby and also include the pedal-steel as a keyboard and toss in Buddy Cage and Barry Sless.
  3. There's a new Todd Snider disc out (limited release of 2,000) that I received last week. Hand-picked gems (by Todd) from live shows from the past year. Good stuff.
  4. Brent Mydland Merl Saunders Melvin Seals Pete Sears
  5. Psychotic? While it's misguided in many peoples' minds, there are a lot of people that agree with her. It's a pretty popular sentiment among many hard-core "Christians," actually. I'm not agreeing with her, but I'm not sure thinking that way deems one clinically psychotic and completely out of touch with reality.
  6. I think Whit Riot is some of the tightest bass playing around....
  7. Well, you're certainly missing Leo Kottke.....
  8. I'm shocked. Wait no I'm not. She can choose to say whatever she wants to say, actually. And, people can choose to walk out of her shows or cancel her gigs.
  9. Never been a big Clapton fan but I don't think he'd be any more "authentic" if he was black. Certainly a gifted musician and hugely influential.
  10. Your ass-less chaps-wearing ass, eh?
  11. Long story, but it has it's roots based in the whole tranny thing.
  12. Bob Dylan and Van Morrison meeting up in Greece at the Acropolis for a few impromptu tunes: http://www.openculture.com/2013/03/bob_dylan_and_van_morrison_sing_together_in_athens_on_historic_hill_overlooking_the_acropolis.html
  13. One lung that he lost in childhood due to illness, I heard. He's a tough bastard.
  14. The "home made" pizza from the school cafeteria here is Titanically shitty. Yet, I'm only a little surprised.
  15. No mentions of Joyce here, either, largely regarded as one of the greatest authors ever. I've read several of his books and felt like taking a melon scooper to my eyeballs each time.
  16. We did have a good laugh when she said she wouldn't miss him mowing the lawn with the GD cranked at full volume....
  17. Sorry to hear, man. I received a call the day after the Red Sox won the WS in '04 from a good college buddy's wife that he had died (37-38 yrs old) from Chrone's Disease. He being from Mass., I said "at least he got to see the Red Sox win a WS," to which she reminded me he never liked baseball. Awkward pause on the phone.
  18. Who knows. You just found out today, so if you contact the family, just let them know that's why for the belated condolences.
