18 Shot at Northern Illinois U., DeKalb Campus
darkstar replied to Twisted Acres's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
I'm sure I'll catch a lot of shit for this but here goes. The fact of the matter is that nothing could have prevented this. If someone really has a grudge or a suicidal wish to kill and then commit suicide or whatever they will do so. I whole heartedly agree with 2 Bob's previous post about the only thing stopping this would have been an armed citizen. You can have all the gun laws you want. These laws do nothing to stop criminals or other people who can not legally purchase weapons. Why? Because such people do not legally purchase guns at stores they get them off the street. Yes this individu -
Impossible Germany playing over the stores sound system at the Lowes in Bowling Green KY on 2-13-08

Echoing what BWW said. Was pretty bad. Right where I live (In South Nashville) we didn't get it too bad, couple of trees down but to the west of us in the next county there were some deaths and a bunch of homes destroyed. That fucker hit them then kind of lifted over Nashville then set down again to the northeast and demolished another little community, blew up a gas pipeline then jumped the state line into KY and wreaked havoc there. I'll also say that I have never seen black on the weather radar either...creepy stuff. The news here does a really great job of letting people know whats going

Didn't listen in....I dunno it just ain't the same for me w/o Jerry....could never get into the Further stuff, Other Ones, The Dead, etc... (though I have seen Ratdog a few times). I kinda got cheezed out a bit at the overt politics thing too. Yeah over the years The Dead have championed some causes (SF Mime Troupe, Seva, Rex Foundation, etc) but they usually never seemed (to me) to endores overtly political candidates. I love the music but I'd go to a rally if I wanna hear how great some politician is.

Yeah a good show(s) if you listen real closely during the first couple of minutes of "Eyes" on that DP (from the night in Madison, WI) there is an amazing run of Garcia cranking out what sounds like about 100 notes in about 3 seconds. Just crazy/scarry playing

Well....debating who is an all time great and the best ever etc, etc, etc is fun and great for sports arguments, and you can rag on Bellicheck. That being said (and yeah I'm a Pats fan) I doubt there are more than a handful of people who wouldn't want either one on the team they root for. Anyways....You gotta hand it to the Giants, they simply outplayed the Pats and deservedly won. Like everyone else I still can't believe that Eli didn't get sacked and how the hell did that guy Tyree make that catch....pretty incredible stuff.......bastards

Hey Lammy...not raggin' on you or anything but to say thats cocky and whatnot is flat out wrong. It's a 48-49 yd fg which is never a gimmie with a kicker that shanked a kickoff not too too long before. If it was a 40 or less yard attempt I'd say sure kick it, but an almost 50yd fg....I dunno, your too close to punt so why not go for it?

Bush's State of the Union Address: The Final Chapter
darkstar replied to Sir Stewart's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Yeah I guess it was hard to follow your sarcasm... so point taken, however this is something I feel strongly about and I don't really feel that any sarcasm or joking of any kind is warranted when your talking about US Service members getting killed. I guess it just affects me harder. I was over there in Gulf War I for almost 13 months and it puts me into a different frame of refference. -

Dopes????!!!!! I usually stay away from the political threads because everybody has their own opinions and thats fine, but this comment really pisses me off. You may not like the war, you may not like the politicians who are involved in it, you may not even like the military, but how fucking dare you call anyone who has died (or served) over there a dope. It's real easy sitting in your comfy house typing in stupid shit like this, without thinking one whit about what the folks over there are dealing with. We have an all volunteer military these days and you better be thankful that there are -
Good evening....so nice to see you count Dracula Ha Ha Ha Ha I want to wish you all a happy Valentine's day. I was going to come down the aisle in a casket but the damn thing broke I'm still bothered by those crabs I caught at channel 47 Anyway it wasn't a casket, it was a bannana crate Ha Ha Ha boy, boy well well, this is glorius Sunday morning...The Grateful God Damned Dead!!!

The Rockin' The Rhine is frigging GREAT....you gotta hear the Darkstar > Me And My Uncle > Darkstar it sounds odd but works.

Valentines Day = Singles Awareness Day It got so bad at the office where I used to work it wasn't even funny. The women that got stuff delivered would go around showing off their flowers, stuffed animals, etc and make fun of those that didn't get stuff or who didn't have a significant other....just evil shit there. I like the way Jim Carey sums it up in the begining of Eternal Sunshine.......

I've had it for a couple of months now. Disc 2 and the bonus disc are a bit stronger. I've always been a real "primal dead " type of listener. I usually keep it to 68-74 about 80% of the time, but I figured, like you, I was under-represented with other stuff. I like this set of tunes. It's not gonna be my favorite, but it's pretty decent and I have listened to it multiple times. Latter year Dead ( to me ) just doesn't usually get me off. Thats not to say its bad, just that it doesn't have that same wow factor for me. This set is pretty good, but doesn't overwhelm me like a good 72 Playin or Da

Yeah and Suzane Pleschette (Newhart Show) died a couple of days ago as well. Not trying for gallows humor but these things do really happen in 3's it seems.

well dang......what happened to Brett

wow.........OT hate to see a game potentially decided by a coin toss....though I'm sure pack fans are liking it

I ought to save anything I get but I'll probably blow it on a new gun

Have always loved the Doors....Some of the stuff they have released (the live stuff) hasn't been of the best sound quality but I'll probably give this a try
-
I always thought a dream set would go somethin' like this: Weather Report > Eyes > Playin' > The Other One > Darkstar > Morning Dew E: We Bid You Goodnight each song would be jammed out for a minimum of 20 minutes

apparently the logo of a skateboard wheel company

You gotta love that ( Pleeeeeeeeease don't murder me) Jerry could really have a funny sense of humor. I love the stage banter, especially from the 70's. That 10-30-71 (or is it 70?) show never fails to kill me with all the yuks. The classic retort to the guy yelling for Truckin' "what is it? you gotta be a cop man, is that it...play truckin, play truckin.....we'll play whatever we like" then Weir with his "whole load of live chickens" comment. Just cracks me up

really a bummer the way that whole scene went down that last tour....you sorta new something dire was in the works

Parcells does have a habit of that (leaving early) He was negotiating with the Jets as he was coaching the Pats in the Superbowl back in 97..... As for Cowher you think he will be persuaded to come back next year? I was thinking he probably would do the tv gig for a year and then get back into it. I don't think he can stay away from it too long. The Tuna could have a few options later on this month, looking like perhaps Seattle may be considering a firing...Dungy may leave as well but talk is he's thinking about prison ministry instead of football...who knows
