  1. Hinterland Festival, St. Charles, Iowa The Dead South Colter Wall Wood Brothers St. Paul & the Broken Bones Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit Hopefully Isbell has Amanda Shires in tow, never seen her with them and with Brandi Carlile playing the same festival tomorrow, I'm hopeful for some Highwomen material.
  2. Buttigieg may very well be running for a veep spot. I'm just not sure who I want at the top. The pros and cons for most of the contenders even out on my balance sheet right now.
  3. I agree with everything except your assessment of Harris. She was off her game a bit last night, but she can be as consistently forceful as she was in her closing last night. She or Warren would be the best to go toe-to-toe with Trump. I still like Buttigieg to debate Trump. He’s so calm, I don’t think Trump would land a punch, just flail and wear himself out.
  4. Not many people buy music anymore. I can't fault artists for doing everything they can to make $$. I don't have to buy it, but if people want to, that's between them and their pocketbook.
  5. Driving through Canada on my way to Massachusetts tomorrow. Maybe I'll just goddamn stay.
  6. This would be beautiful. I could envision a scenario where Pence refuses to debate a sinner. Also, a key Iowa staff has quit Booker's campaign. I doubt he makes it to the caucuses.
  7. I get that. As a public school teacher, I totally agree. I can sympathize with a mayor of an impoverished urban area willing to take risks to improve the school system. I don't dismiss this, that's one of the reasons he's not higher on my list; but I don't disqualify him. Fuck Nebraskans. They have a brilliant Springsteen album and that's more than enough.
  8. Iowan here, so I matter more than most of you. Here's my current ranking: 1. Harris 2. Warren 3. Buttigieg 4. Booker 5. Castro
  9. My tix for Chicago said 7:30, they took the stage at 9. Not sure who's opening. If it's Whiskey Myers, you're not missing anything. Enjoy!
  10. I really need to explore the pre-Daydream Nation stuff these guys put out. I love that LP so much.
  11. Mick Jagger is a singular phenomenon. Damn! Not sure what was going on with some miscommunications about setlist or other issues. Keith disappeared briefly early on and that kind of freaked me out. Highlight was definitely Monkey Man. One of my favorite (slightly) deep cuts. I'm very glad I went and had a good time with friends. Having said that, I'd follow McCartney on tour (or at least 5-10 more shows) if I had unlimited funds. Can't say the same about the Stones. What'd you think about night 2?
  12. Yesterday, as I walked along the Chicago Riverwalk, The Northman seemed to be playing nothing but Wilco, heard I If Ever Was a Child and Heavy Metal Drummer, the latter while walking west with the Marina Towers in the background. Kinda cool.
  13. Y'all are getting me quite excited for Tuesday!
  14. I was picturing the interaction between Nicky Katt and Adam Goldberg on Dazed & Confused.
  15. I had the same experience when I told him how much I like it when Wilco plays ITMWLY live.
  16. I bought that LP thinking it would be the Rolling Thunder Revue version. Nope. Pretty much sucks, IMO.
  17. Pretty sure I was introduced to that song by that video. It took me a while to adapt to the Blood on the Tracks version.
  18. Missed posting yesterday. Saw McCartney in Madison, WI. Well worth it. Three hours. Great setlist (Helter Skelter was a highlight). INCREDIBLE energy from a guy who turns 77 later this month.
  19. The latest episode of the Sound Opinions Podcast featured 3 Feet High and Rising. I'm glad I was able to burn my CD. It's hard to find for streaming. https://www.soundopinions.org/show/704
