  1. This really puts words to the way I felt after my first solo acoustic show last month.
  2. Heineken is not a good beer, but in cans or draft was a revelation after drinking from green bottles my whole life. It was decent.
  3. I really liked After Life. My dad has dementia. The scenes between Tony and his dad left me sobbing. You will have tears from laughing and crying.
  4. Heard these guys on Ricky Gervais's new Netflix show, After Life, which I loved. Haven't thought of this band for over a decade. A very good soundtrack, overall.
  5. LOL... Still true 9 years later.
  6. Sorry for the size. Notice Jeff Tweedy between Jeff Glor and Elizabeth Warren.
  7. Along those lines, someone asked if he donated his hair to locks of love. He laughed and said the wouldn't want it. Also, he tried to do a bit of a Q&A with the crowd. Someone asked who he was voting for Chicago mayor, he gave a name and then said, "What the fuck do you care?"
  8. Almost all smaller. About 3-4. Most looked like this, one was much darker. Dang, picture won't attach. Will try to post somewhere where I can link.
  9. I thought I'd post it up here for posterity... 1. Via Chicago 2. Bombs Above 3. Some Birds 4. IATTBYH 5. New Madrid 6. Hummingbird 7. You and I 8. Let's Go Rain 9. Having Been is No Way to Be (HBINWTB??) 10. Passenger Side 11. Jesus, Etc. 12. Impossible Germany 13. I Know What It's Like 14. Don't Forget 15. California Stars 16. Heavy Metal Drummer 17. A Shot in the Arm Encore 18. Evergreen (New Song) 19. Misunderstood 20. It Must Be Love (Labi Siffre cover) 21. Acuff-Rose
  10. And I just learned that Madness covered it from Labi Siffre. I had previously not heard of him.
  11. That looks accurate. 20. Would be the Madness cover, 21 would be Acuff-Rose
  12. I hope someone got the setlist for this. A great show! My first Tweedy acoustic show. He said his voice was suffering from steroids, but I think he sounded great. His guitars were struggling to say in tune, probably due to our cold weather. He's on steroids due to an allergic reaction to latex gloves he wore while visiting his father-in-law in a nursing home. Somehow, popcorn was involved. Highlights for me included: Via Chicago (opener) Hummingbird - incredible whistling Evergreen Misunderstood It Must Be Love (Madness cover) I hope someone else can write a more thorough review.
  13. If I were him, I'd just say, and maybe he did. "I pled guilty to perjury because there was a paper trail proving I am lying. Produce that paper trail or any documentation that I am lying today, and I am willing to face the full force of the law for any dishonesty today."
  14. It's damn good. I'm not a deep dish guy and loved it. Be prepared to wait. Maybe outside.
  15. Did Jonathan Richman do a previous Solid Sound or do I just remember Wilco playing "Roadrunner" during the cover set? A great lineup!
  16. About 44 seconds in https://youtu.be/dCdAYU00Hc0
  17. I, as well, will sing the praises of Russian Doll. Had no idea what to expect. Loved every bit, except maybe the conclusion. Need to rewatch and process.
  18. I'm not at all surprised by this. Saddened. IIRC, he's been public about getting sober recently and his big plans for the year are probably completely dashed. If the LPs come out, I will still give them a listen. I watched Louis CK's Horace & Pete after his allegations came out. I wouldn't pay to see either live and will avoid trying to give them any $$ directly. His denials seem pretty pathetic in light of the evidence the NYT has compiled.
  19. I've listened a couple of times now. Pretty representative of his output since working with Narducy and Wurster. This may grow to be my favorite of those four LPs.
  20. That would be on ABIG full album set... Geez! I immediately regret this.
  21. Stick it to the Man!! Good luck...
