One of my brother's dearest friends died a couple of days ago. Abused alcohol, tobacco, and God knows what else most of his life. Died at 48. One of the smartest people I ever knew and is responsible indirectly and directly for much of my musical taste. Hard to know whether I'd love music enough to start following bands on BBS's without his influence. What does this have to do with Neil Young? Tonight's the Night. "A sparkle was in his eyes, but his life was in his hands" is a perfectly apt epitaph, sorry to say.

Apparently I've interacted with Jason enough that he now recognizes me. Caught me off guard. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

BOB MOULD!! I haven't seen anyone more often, but it's been 18 years (minus one day) since I last saw him with a backing band.

Oh shit, yeah. I would probably do the same thing in that situation. -
Watched the pilot when it first came out. Can't wait for the rest. She so reminds me of a neighbor lady I knew growing up in both look and demeanor.

The goddamn dumbest response was some NHL coach saying he'd bench a player for doing that. What the hell is there to be patriotic about if not freedom of expression, you dumb fuck? -

Yup. -
I've listened to it twice now. A bit distractedly both times. Two thoughts: 1) Proper to release this album just after summer ended, it has a great autumnal feel, 2) I look at the title as maybe a little playful, but also a bit melancholy to match the spirit of the album. The cover is great, but (IMO, obviously) doesn't fit the music inside.

11/22/63 and A Hologram for the King. Both good adaptations of great books. Both made casting decisions for the lead roles that I never would have, but they worked well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Scary fucker. I'm glad he's gone, but hope it doesn' t help Trump in the campaign. Here are some words I put on the internet earlier this week. -
I've tried reading Shakespeare a few times. I appreciate his work so much when acted. Can't read it and appreciate. It's a character flaw I wish I could correct.

Boom! I've always loved this line. If I were to analyze every line, I might find a better, but this will do.

I've done the same, except Chrome.

Glad to hear this. He's opening for Jason Isbell when I see him in October. I've always enjoyed what I've heard, but couldn't name one song.

Vibes. No worries, though. If we elect Trump, we all get good jobs.

Scarborough disavowed him a while ago. Before the RNC for sure, maybe even going back to May or earlier? -

I'm the last person to be a conspiracy theorist, but this has the stink of a dirty trick all over it. http://www.npr.org/2016/08/09/489311398/clinton-campaign-says-it-didnt-know-orlando-shooters-father-was-at-her-rally -
After watching Bryant Gumbel's expose on HBO, I'm really down on the whole facade of the Olympics, but I am sure I will watch much of the soccer (already watched the first USWNT game), and some other miscellaneous stuff.
