It really is hard to share the earth with fuckwads like that or the fuckwads who are in ISIS for that matter.

Does she have a regular thing going on now? Maybe the best offer she's had in a while.

So do these kids: And, yes, those are solid albums. Across a Crowded Room seems to get forgotten a lot.

That's kind of what I thought too. These are some fantastic renditions.

Released within the past month, Acoustic Classics is so good. Acoustic re-recordings of some of his best. Some originally acoustic, some not. All good!

I thought maybe math worked differently down under like a water swirling down the drain. -

The crescendo in Born to Run at about 3:10 in this live version http://youtu.be/IxuThNgl3YA The sound of fingers running along the fretboard on Bob Mould's Lonely Afternoon at about 3:05 edit: Not sure why the first link shows up and the 2nd video is embedded. -
Recorded in '75, but still pretty kickass. Nice find. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...For_the_Whole_World_to_See

Such a great song!

I think I've noted before that it seems he has started slurring his words while singing. Not AT ALL trying to imply anything about sobriety or anything, as his speaking voice is fine. I wonder if years of straining his vocal cords have him trying to different methods.

Hillary should have a pantsuit tailored with the text of that Republican report.

Absolutely, and -- maybe even more so -- AGIB.

Exactly. It's a tea party code word. Like "death panel", "Kenya", etc. Words that somehow indicate Obama's failures without really having any meat to them.

Gimme Fiction struck me as a band really trying and succeeding at making a serious rock album. From the album art, to the production, to the songs, it was a well-executed attempt at recognizing that rock can be high art. It doesn't really sound like any of these (except maybe VU), but in the legacy of bands like The Beatles, Velvet Underground, Bowie, King Crimson.

The Autumn Defense on new Flaming Lips Sgt Pepper album

I am really quite certain the world doesn't need Miley Cyrus contributing to A Day in the Life. -
Good lord, you really don't understand how the right wing media echo chamber works do you? I have 5 FB friends whose pages I could go to right now still ranting and Benghazi and they will be next week.

I love the Baseball Project. They always play eastern Iowa, never central. They're playing a date in Maquoketa, IA (hour or so north of Davenport) between dates in Minneapolis and KC. Des Moines is on the same goddamn Interstate as MPLS and KC!! Grrr... Of course, I doubt they'd play my favorite song (Don't Call Them Twinkies) because it was written and sung by Craig Finn.

Just got home from Arturo Sandoval. A lot of fun.

Pretty much because it follow the trajectory of the Stones' career. I finished it, but after 1980 or so, there's not much, just like their musical output.

Bands you most want to see reunite -- where it IS possible.
uncool2pillow replied to PopTodd's topic in Someone Else's Song
I'm not sure this needs to happen after the post-Unplugged reunion. In fact, I kind of wish Gene and Paul would hang it up and help finance a new KISS tribute band as the "real" KISS. They're getting so old their make up is caving in.
