This is a good point, one I've been thinking about. I suppose to me that it would come down to numbers. How many lives can be saved by having a waiting period in place versus the inability to protect oneself in a situation like this? My guess is a waiting period (for cooling off I think 48 hours is sufficient, not a week or more) would save more innocent lives that it would cost.

After blatantly ignoring the police's advice. Not sure what justice is in this case, but I am sure that it was Zimmerman's initiating of the conflict (again, against the wishes of the police) that led to the death of Martin. Was Martin at fault as well? It certainly appears so, but again, the conflict was instigated by Zimmerman against police wishes. Undisputed facts, no?

Why? What's wrong with the "cooling off period"?

I know Mountain Bed would be grateful if they just retired ITMWLY from the set list period.

One thing we know for sure: There's less of this kind home invasion in the U.S. than there is in the U.K. I'm ambivalent about gun control, but do appreciate this kind of deterrence.

I thin inconsistent is probably more accurate. Maybe this format will somehow energize/inspire and he'll put on some good ones. -
It would take a top notch guitarist for sure to cover 1952 Vincent Black Lightning. I've heard it covered a few times. Never interestingly. A top 5 song on my list.

Which Replacements song did you request? What Richard Thompson song did he cover?

Wait, Jules left?

Having an opinion (even contrary to yours) is fine and you've been around long enough to know that people feel quite empowered to criticize the band here. I think most people are somewhat surprised that you would hold this opinion. I think this setlist came off pretty much as people thought it would. I can't imagine having been in that audience and being bored. I was on pins & needles wondering what was coming next just following the setlist on Twitter.

Do you think Nels would faithfully reproduce a one note guitar solo? Hard to imagine.

Which made him 37 when the Sopranos started. Yikes. I liked his voice work for Where the Wild Things Are more than I liked the movie as a whole.

Me too! Toured there circa 1994 and the guy pouring samples was a fellow Luther College alum, so he kept our glasses full. Great time! I had some New Glaurus a couple of weeks ago. Can't remember which one, but it was good.

I saw Bob Mould put on a ton of solo acoustic shows. Every one of them opened with Wishing Well. He tore that apart every time.

Also the Steve Martin memoir. Not often that I read 2 books @ once, but didn't want to take the iPad to the pool.
