I accept that there's not much documented voter fraud. I accept that getting a photo ID may be an inconvenience for some. But election authenticity should be absolutely, positively above reproach. While I say this, I realize that quite a few people who share this opinion do so because they want to disenfranchise their political opponents.

So thankful that 2 16 2008 (winter residency 2nd night) exists as a matrix. Fantastic show that I was lucky to attend. -
The Bush tax cuts were maybe secondarily meant to stimulate the economy, but the primary purpose was to give the citizens some of that short lived surplus back.

For those with incomes >$250,000. Not exactly "exactly".

I nearly replied to you to calm down because you're set to play 3 against my Twins, the team with the worst run differential in the game (-85). It seems, though, that the Rangers' slump is for real.

Just came back from Avett Bros. at Des Moines' 80 / 35 festival. Holy shit!

Wilco — 7/3/12, Davenport, IA (Adler Theatre)

Another big highlight was getting the full effect of the light show. The Val air ceiling was too low for all the "cones". Very cool stuff. -

Great show, indeed. First time I've seen the band in a sit down venue. Balcony. It was kind of nice not to have to push and shove to see over people, but I do think they tend to rock harder in a standing environment. Laminated Cat and I'm Always in Love were definite highlights. Only 1 song each from Being There and AGIB was a bit disappointing. -
One Wing, My Country Disappeared, and maybe one other in Davenport tonight.

This all came together w/in the past hour... WILCO!!

Even a bigger steal for $8.99 for 174 MP3's from Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008GEIHFC/ref=docs-os-doi_0 This could be a pricing error, get in while the getting's good.

Interesting article here. Surprised (if it's true) how hard Kennedy was lobbying Roberts to join the dissent. http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2012/07/01/509359/supreme-court-springs-a-leak-leaks-to-conservative-pundits-may-have-started-more-than-a-month-ago/

It's a bad question. It's been answered plainly here. A better question would be why put so much effort trying to repeal a federal law so similar to one you promoted in Massachusetts? Or why do you want to completely repeal a law when you have supported so many of its individual tenets?
-
You'd just a need a new law. Technically you'd need 60 Senators to make it filibuster-proof, but only 51 would have to vote in favor of a law to repeal.

Pretty much anything a presidential candidate says they're going to do they mean to say they're going to lobby Congress to do.
-
I agree with almost all of this except that SBS is in the same league. A couple of weak tracks, but I like it as much as AGIB, BT, ST.

I don't see how you can like the Wilco catalog enough to search out a forum to discuss them and think that W(TA) is anything other than their worst or 2nd worst album. It is an opinion to be sure, but it's so clearly an opinion that it doesn't need to be prefaced by "I think". Now, many people around here would tell you it's not just their worst, but not a very good album no matter who put it out. I like it. There's only a few songs I dislike, but compared to the rest of their catalog, (I think) it's just not that good.

10 years, wow! I would've have guessed 5 max. Time flies. The Who had 2 of the most talented musicians on the planet (Keith and John) playing one of the best songwriter's material. Roger isn't too bad at singing them either.

Lots and lots of fun.

Yep. Gained a whole new respect for those guys watching this. Esp. Neal Peart. He's had it rough, losing his daughter and all. But has anyone handled fame better than this guy. Widely considered the best living rock drummer, but can be somewhat anonymous in the general public. That's having your cake and eating it too.
