  1. I figured it went w/o saying that I was checking here... Didn't know about bootsdaily, but will add it to my rotation. Thanks!
  2. If I didn't know they had a slew of dates in 2012 I'd say this run of shows could be their swan song.
  3. That's because you're Jules and he saw your wallet
  4. I (well, most, I suspect) knew it was too good be true. You're never done, are you?
  5. Nevermind, I didn't notice it as a separate encore below the 2nd set of dotted lines.
  6. Surprised they dumped Cruel To Be Kind from the encore. Glad I got to saw it at Val Air.
  7. It's pretty funny that the crowd wanted such a raucous show, and we did. We were an old bunch. I'm 41 and saw as many people who looked my age or older as those who looked younger. Hardly anyone looked under 30.
  8. Just watched that online. Blew me away! 48:00 in, Bob Mould's Black Sheet of Rain. Wow, just wow!
  9. Yeah, my plan was to sit up at the tables during Nick Lowe, but decided right away that there would be no way to hear the show from there. Kind of a disappointing reception for him. But I think he knows what the deal is when you're an opener.
  10. I don't the the issue here is whether people comprehend the definition of turning point. You think mixing up the set list a bit constitutes a turning point, others disagree.
  11. Would rather hear IATTBYH than IMTWLY, but no complaints about this show at all!
  12. WOW. Nearly 4 years since I saw these guys. Hard to believe it's been that long. What a great, great show! Honored and lucky to have seen the show. I'm each show I've seen has been better than the one before.
  13. They're human. A show is an interactive experience and they, for who knows what reason, didn't feel it. Cut 'em some slack. You enjoyed the show. Don"t let the Internet change your opinion.
  14. Not sure how someone could like North Hills and be disappointed in Nothing is Wrong. No sophomore slump there. I can see not liking the band altogether, but if you like North Hills, I think Nothing is Wrong has a very similar sound, only better songs. There are 4 or 5 killers on there and no filler I can think of.
  15. We often thought about eloping. My in-laws had a nasty, nasty divorce and it just seemed easier especially in the depths of planning. We knew many of our friends and family would be disappointed, so we soldiered on. Glad we did. To me, there's nothing like a wedding. All your closest friends and family there to celebrate. Even with the nasty divorced in-laws. Well worth it. On the other hand, I know many elopers who have know regrets. You could always elope for now and have a major reception down the road.
  16. The wife and I were just discussing this one. I may have posted it before.
  17. Lou Reed certainly is an influential guitarist. Talented? Moderately. But w/o his work with the Velvets you have a hard time getting to the Stooges and punk. Richard Thompson is hilarious.
