Jay's new album is terrible. Sorry. -
Hell is Chrome Box Full of Letters Ashes But I have no reason for any of them. Just seem wintery. So does Misunderstood. Cool topic.

I went through a stretch of not getting any ideas. I went back to older songs and started at the same point as a previous song and wrote in another direction. Worked really well for me.

A little credit is due to Ford, who don't need the bailout.

My vote goes for "Sickdom" from Sycamore Smith.

U2 get my vote.

Wow! Thanks for the cover info.

Not to be too off topic here (I'd say Wingspan is a place to start branching out from) but is that James Coburn on the cover of "Band on the Run"? I just grabbed it and I can't believe I never noticed before. I still have the poster inside too! Who the hell else is on this cover? How did I never notice this?!
-
Yeah, but, he was a Brave. Nope 'cause no one wants to walk to home plate to "Hate It Here"

Doesn't this end the era of 10 p.m. dramas altogether on NBC. That's pretty risky move. All comedy and reality, America the weird.

If you were a baseball player, what Wilco song would you choose to lead you to the batter's box? For the fans I would choose ITMWLY especially for that opening guitar part.

Sorry to hear it. Buying a Mac was the best virus killer I've found.

I'm sure it could be two different people. Wikipedia David Watts. He's a member of Parliment married to a woman whose maiden name is Davies. Even if it is just a fun coincidence, that song is great!

"Something Else... " maybe my favorite, if only because "David Watts" is about his sister's husband. One thing I've noticed and talked to others about is that neither Ray, nor Dave, tried to hide in their voices, that they were English. So many U.K. artists (including the Beatles) tried to hide that accent. (For the Beatles: Paul kept his accent for effect[or affect]).

Neil Peart is gonna kick our asses!

I'm slowly wading through the Kinks catalogue and this was next in line. Its incredible. Has anyone else gone through this Kinks obsession thing? I'm getting concerned. And all my other albums look so lonesome.

Oh bother. Grohl coughs up outdated jock rock. None of his albums amount to a hill of beans or will be remembered. Wilco is a band that will continue to live well beyond any of the band members. In the catalogue of American rock music, Grohl will be remembered as the last of many drummers for a three album meteoric rock band, not for anything he's done since. He may be a perfectly nice guy, but his music is shit.

Even if this turns out to be BS, its hilarious. I'm not a fan of Coldplay, but Satriani is an idiot, so I'm enjoying this.

The banjo is tricky for sure. I've had good luck using a SM58 and placing it a couple of feet away (18 inches, I just measured). I play hard and the space gives room for the room sound to kind of seep in.

And we all appreciate your efforts!

I'd be lying if I said I liked it. Particularly his over-affected voice.
