  1. right before i asked about them i had unsuccessfully searched for them via Google. i only came across what seemed to be live versions.
  2. anyone heard the studio versions of Memory Lane or Color of Pain (the two bonus tracks i know of)?
  3. did they ever reschedule/refund the cancelled shows?
  4. I really loved Fate when it came out and wanted to explore their back catalog, but so much new music has come out that I haven't got the chance to.
  5. is it readily available or hard to find a la Let it Be? as of now it's tied with Easy Tiger on metacritic. i forgot how poorly those 2005 releases got reviewed - the ones that are generally thought his best have lower averages than Easy Tiger. I'm sure Heartbreaker would be the highest, but it's not on there.
  6. ok. never seen it. And add in David Byrne's big suit for good measure.
  7. thanks! i'm assuming they played Fix It on air? is that not on the site anywhere? RNS sounds like Cobwebs? I may need to get that in the near future.
  8. i finally got a copy today. i have to say, i liked it a lot more listening through it on the way home than the stream the other day. the songwriting credits in the booklet are confusing. all say "written by david ryan adams" but never has anyone else's actual name, just they're publishing names on various ones.
  9. i put on RnR for the first time in a while and i noticed he really sings differently. some times it sounds like he was trying to emulate Kurt Cobain and other singers according to what the song was trying to sound like.
  10. i'm going by when i got it (a week early through Polyvinyl) - i have no idea when other people hear it.
  11. just like any record worth it's weight, you gotta give it some time. i like it. my favorite parts seem to be the shortest bits, or parts where it's just his voice and acoustic instruments. i like that first part of track 12 though - wish that was made into a full song.
  12. I expect a GnR version of "I'm a Pepper!" soon.
  13. is it one of those videos or just a stream? if you know where it is, i'd love some linkage. =)
  14. really - what a delayed reaction. maybe he just saw it when he read the Stereogum early review? is the post addressing Courtney Love saved anywhere? check what is on the Cardinal blog in the sidebar: we are a corporation it's like a lie with jams
  15. for those that have Cardinology - is the album version of Cobwebs more like the original demo he put on his blog or more rocking live version?
  16. i like Easy Tiger. Halloweenhead definitely does not fit - b-side, 7", ep or something else. maybe take off one of the other weaker songs on side 2 and i think that's pretty strong. i haven't heard these: Bonus tracks "Nobody Listens to Silence" (Adams)
  17. http://pitchfork.tv/interview/stereolab-part-1-of-2 2 part video interview
  18. what are some of the lyrics to this? i think i heard that this weekend.
  19. i think the whole shirt deal has run out. the official store has the red vinyl/leah hayes cover/comic book/bonus 7"/download for $15. i think i've seen it $17 something everywhere else at least. re: MMJ is this just for their last tour? i know Dr Dog toured with them at some point.
  20. Chemical Chords was actually the first Stereolab record i bought. i read in an interview that this has a lot of Motown influence and it shows. the title track reminds me of something Isaac Hayes/Shaft.
  21. are there any other bands touring this way - no opener, 2.5-3 hr sets every night?
  22. www.kgsr.com in studio interview right now. they played Fix It already. Dallas show was great. they never left the stage from a little after 8:30 until 11 (curfew). then came back for 3 song encore. they premiered Stop with Ryan playing it kinda funky on Wurlitzer.
