  2. I stole this from reddit (of course), but I feel it applies to me today here on VC.
  3. I am hoping for Loose Fur 2014 (followed by tour!).
  4. That J-50 is a beauty. Yes, the adj bridge is debatable. Sonically, it is much worse. Adds a TON of weight to the top and is accused of being a tone and/or volume killer. Most people have swapped them out over the years. However, from a collect-ability point of view, people love odd, quirky, original things. Gibson had a lot of quirks in the 1960s. So, YMMV I guess. BTW, here is my 1970 Gibson Dove with the Adj bridge:
  5. I understand the sentiment, I think (I have not read article, so I am speaking in generalities). I very much dislike what currently is mainstream country music (e.g., Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, etc.). But I love country music that is more in the traditional sense. Not just older acts like Gram Parsons, Willie Nelson and Emmy Lou Harris, but also new acts that are in that vein (e.g., Old Crowe Medicine Show, Gillian Welch, Justin Townes Earle, etc.). Speaking of JTE, I was at one of his shows recently and he went off on a rant about how no one makes country music anymore. At least not how he d
  6. . All Along the Watchtower is one of my favorite Dylan tunes; and it is backed with Fankie Lee which is one of my least favorite Dylan tunes.
  7. A great cause. As a one who has adopted several strays, I gotta say I really appreciate those who put time and energy into shelters.
  8. Agreed 100%. That fella does great work. The site is really good. Really appreciate his efforts.
  9. I think it was only issued on vinyl, if I am not mistaken. That is why the fuzz/pop from the rip. The Maxwells Show per CCC above
  10. Sweet! Does it have the adjustable bridge? Do you have any pictures? ( I am kinda a nerd about vintage acoustics).
  11. Thanks, man. I appreciate it.
  12. I have only seen a few episodes, but have enjoyed those. Snappy writing, quick dialogue, humor, poignancy, ... I'm on board.

  14. For those interested. From a tweet:
  15. Well, I'll be damned. . Immediately after the sale date, I emailed Largo to complain about the ticket fiasco and they put me on a 'wait list' in case duplicates get worked out. Sure enough, they emailed me today and asked if I still wanted tix. So, now I have both Santa Barbara and Largo!
  16. I love Presence. First Zep I bought in vinyl - found it in a Bargin Bin for like a dollar or something.
  17. Exactly what came to mind for me. Congrats, sir.
  18. I will be a Santa Barbara, as well. Except for the drive, it should be a good venue. BTW, here is Largo's fb post about it: I emailed them with my complaint and they wrote back saying I would be on a 'wait list' for any duplicate tickets that get sorted out. If still interested, you may want to give it a shot. LargoNews@gmail.com
  19. Humidity Swollen Hot Dog is the name of my GnR cover band
  20. Really? I trust tried and it said sold out once I got to the "finish" button. Hurm.
  21. Just listened to this one on Spotify and it is awesome. Thanks for the recommendation.
  22. It is sad when actual fans who are dedicated enough to post on a fucking Wilco message board cannot get tickets in their hometown.
  23. That Largo thing was a fucking joke. I had the same experience as everyone else: multiple people with multiple crashes. I gave up an bought Santa Barbara. Tough drive, but a least I got tix for a solo show.
