  4. IJ is next on my To Read list (not gonna follow the schedule, tho).
  5. Not sure if this one is correct. Got it from the notoriously suspect gumbopages. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Someday Some Morning Sometime ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Lyrics - Woody Guthrie Chords/tab contributed by P J Carey <pj_carey@hotmail.com> This is my attempt at "Someday Some Morning Sometime", my favourite tune on MA II. The guitar doesn't really kick in until the 3rd verse, but I'll leave it to someone else to figure out the Wurlitzer/Delayaphone part..... F/C (x33210) sounds better than F for most of it. Improvements welcome! (especially for the outro) - paul F

  9. Love is Hell is my favorite DRA record (especially when combined w/ the Japanese Bonus Disk. If you don't have this, it is worht searching for).
  10. Very. Awesome. --- For some reason I have a soft spot for Fiona Sleep to Dream Fast as You Can O' Sailor
  11. It is a 2004 model. The steel wool is good, but not quite the finish I am looking for. Gonna try the 220 sandpaper next time I make it to the hardware store. As for polish/wax, can you provide a stewmac link (or similar) or the specific brand? I would appreciate it!
  12. If you can stretch your budget a little more, I'd suggets the Epi Masterbilt series. In my experience, a lot of bang-fo-buck and a guitar you won't quickly out-grow. http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Epiphone-Masterbilt-AJ500M-Advanced-Jumbo-Acoustic-Guitar?sku=519028
  13. Just saw this today. Really enjoyed it. I am a Sucker for Low-fi Sci-Fi
  14. Can I add my slightly different take on this? I just located the chord changes relative to the lyrics, added a few missing chords (IMHO) and showed the "main riff": the quick transition from C to Cmaj7 to A'. The Cmaj7 is really just a passing chord thrown in for color. I thought I'd make that a little clearer in tab form. As always, feedback is welcome. I am gonna try the ;code; thing. Hopefully it works and keeps everything together. You and I - Wilco Capo 3rd fret / All chords relative to capo. Cmaj7: x32000 A': x02410 Main Riff: C Cmaj7 A' d d d u d d d e
  15. I have a J-45RW and LOVE it. It has become my Benchmark Guitar: all other guitars are compared to it when it comes to tone (Spruce/RW) and playability (short scale, nut width) and versatility (sounds good picked as well as strummed). Very few have come close to this as my personal ideal for an acoustic guitar. Lots of people say you can't finger-pick a dread. I think this is untrue. In fact, I like the volume the dread gives because I finger pick using bare flesh and I need all the volume I can get. I also own a 000 and a Jumbo. Sure, the 000 sounds great picked and the jumbo sounds great s
  16. Other people suggested polishing with a brown paper bag gives the satin finish. Didn't work for me. Thanks for the relpies, fellas. I've tried the steel wool. It feels ... ok. Not as satin like as I'd like it. Perhaps I need to wet sand? or use tur oil or gun oil? Anyone try this? Maybe I just need to sand more with the steel wool. You did mention it takes a while - almost bare wood. Hmmmm...
  17. Query for fellow SST'ers. I adore matte finish necks and can't stand gloss necks. Anyone ever try to convert one? I have a Gibson J-45 that I love the tone, but not a big fan of how the neck feels. I have taken some steel wool and brown paper bag polish to it and it helped a little, but still does not give me that feel that I like on, say, Martin or Taylor matte finish necks. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
