He used the gold top LP for Wilco (The Song) - the opening song for the Pomona show (6-20-09). Pretty strange to see JT with an LP. I really only7 associate Jazzmasters or SGs with the Tweed.

Damn. So jealous. That is a pretty good deal, too.

Wow. What a great show. Great setlist with a good mix from AM to W(TA). Neat to hear some of the new stuff live – especially BBN. Deeper Down sounded good - just like the record. Radio Cure was an unexpected pleasure as was Hummingbird. Like others, I thought it was a great venue. I was a couple of rows back in front of Nels (very near where the kids got to strum Spiders – what a cool moment). Very cool to see Nels work his back of tricks. He can get amazing sounds out of the guitar. Not just feedback/noise, but other odd effects, like in Radio Cure and IATTBYH. Great watching so close. I

Just put in my request for Hell Is Chrome for Pomona.

I'll be there. I am really excited: This is my first Wilco show (ducks to avoid barrage of expired vegetables). If you are going, look for me in my Cherry Ghost T-Shrt and say hello.

I do see your point. And perhaps I over-stated the negative. I do like the novel and really understand why it is significant. Just not what I expected. Only 100 pages? You are in for a treat. I would be interested to hear your review at the end.

This has been a real interesting thread. Cool that Mrs. T chimed in. The bottom line is that if JT doesn't want them out, then they shouldn't be out, of course. But I have to admit, that I love the Living Room Shows (and ST and all the other solo acoustic stuff available for audio digestion). I really love how JT's work translates to solo acoustic. And since I am an amatuer guitarist who plays nearly 100% solo acoustic in his own living room, I found a lot of musical inspiration and joy from this type of work. So... perhaps I can lobby Mrs & Mr T to make more solo acoustic available - -
I am going to Pomona, too. Glad to see this info. BTW, I heard the opener is Okervill River

Are there any music magazines worth subscribing to anymore? Or is it a (soon-to-be) dead medium like the 6 o'clock news and the New York Times?

NPR kicks arse! and PG is my favorite Zep LP (errr...doule LP). I cannot stop listening to this:

I recently read this, too. Let me start by saying this: boy was I surprised. Moby Dick was nothing like I imagined it would be. The whale did not make an actual appearance until page 625 (the book is 655 pages total). Has a title character ever been so under used? The structure of the book is very unique. It really is more a collection of short stories with a very loose plot outline connecting them. Each chapter is very small and usually tackles a different subject, of sorts (the last chapter is number CXXXV). The chapters are written with different styles: first person narrative, drama (compl

+1 The more i listen to this, the more it grows on me. -
Did you guys see this: Souldier Signature Straps - Tweedy edition

Get Iron & Wine's new record or perhaps Neko's Middle Cyclone (if you haven't already). Two best releases of 2009.

Of all the records I've heard this year, this one is head and shoulders above the others (IMHO). I know, I know - collection of rarities, et. al., but this is just so friggin' sweet. Again, I know its a cover, but I gotta nominate "Love Vigilantes" for the song of the year (so far). Just beautiful (and sad, too.).

Love Reign O' Me The Real Me (sorry, I said 5:15 above; wrong Quad tune)

I checked utube. not there Saw it on the HD channel Palladia. Really, really cool.

I have to admit that I am not a PJ fan, but I saw them on this Who tribute show were they just owned the "Reign" and "5:15". Ridiculously good.
