  1. i wouldnt say worst (i dont know what is their worst), but its my least favourite. i prefer the songs played live. there's something missing on the studio cuts
  2. one thing i've always wondered - did the songs/manuscripts have titles to them before bragg/wilco got to them, or did they make them up while recording?. they could have just been random lyrics tunes like One by one are self explanitory for a title, but Airline to heaven or Walt Whitmans Niece or Mountain bed?
  3. > will wilcoworld be doing requests for australia as well???? i checked that page yesterday and the aussie dates arent posted yet, but i assume (hope) they will
  4. i thought i pants you pantsday she's a pant side with pants the lonely pants pants stopped the train
  5. straight rock music with a bit of a twang in the earlier days
  6. my grandmother died on Christmas day in 1996, so it puts a dampener on the day ever since. my grandfather died in late october '99 which was a good time for my life (after a bad period the year before). so, its hard to forget these instances i usually listen to music that i liked at the time to remind me of them, even though it can be depressing a bit
  7. > This is a band capable of doing something truly amazing those residency shows have really shaken up the setlists its nice to get an equal dose of their whole career instead of a recently heavy set with a couple of oldies thrown in for measure... thanks Wilco! please keep it up in Australia this month!

  9. i dont know of any alternative version.. there's the studio take (on Mermaid Avenue vol 2) and the live one on Kicking Television
  10. > Regardless of your worrying, what happens is going to happen i felt a tad embarrassed once when i threw up on the plane and a HOT air-hostess had to take my full paper bag away from me... you should have seen the look on her face!. thats why i overdose on motion sickness tablets nowadays. no dramas yet, since then

    > Jeff seemed a little stiff and nervous. A little out of place. he probably had Charleston in the back of his head!
  12. > theres a sweet youtube clip of tweedy playing with brian henneman recently. linky please?
  13. i must be the only person that hasnt listened to the commentary even though i've had the dvd since 2004. i like the bonus disk more as well
  14. > I love it. which disc are you on? disk 3 (L & N dont stop here anymore)
  15. you can already buy it on planes here. but it looks weird to get a beer at 7am sometimes i suffer from anxiety all the time but not cause of planes. for me its the motion sickness (i get it in any form of transport except for trains). get some travel pills and ignore the dosage on the packet. they're usually just ginger or something. i take twice the dose and the packet and dont look outisde as the plane is taking off or landing.... works fine for me
  16. gee, i thought i was the only one that thought that!
  17. > Want to talk about a grower? Some people still don't like AM?!
  18. nice to see the old stuff coming back, after the residency those chicago shows seemed to have worked wonders!
  19. there's a clip of Tweedy singing Birds & Ships with a completly different melody to Natalie's one. it sounds very folky and Dylanesque.. as for using the exact stuff, none of us have seen the original manuscripts that came from Nora, so wouldnt know if anything was changed the changes would have been all about melody/chord structures
  20. the best were sitcoms from the 80's (or britcoms from the 70s)
