I can't stand the noise on Via Chicago live. The versions from 2004 ish are nice, thinking of Radio City/live album era. I don't think they did the noise then.

Wilco — 8/1/12, Hartford, CT (Mortensen Hall at The Bushnell)

Thanks a lot! Not on FB, so I'll "like" this here. -
I would like something a little more substantial out of a ballcap. Not necessarily a 5950, but maybe something in-between that and what they sold. Guess I could always buy a Washington Nationals / Senators or Winnpeg Whips hat and pretend the W stands for Wilco. I restrained myself this tour and only bought the key chain tag. I vote for more of the little, inexpensive, goodies.

Check out the High Falls, an impressive waterfall downtown.

RE: stage-crashing - There were also a bunch of empty seats in the first few rows right up until Wilco started.. So some folks took advantage of that, and then in the 2nd or 3rd song, some dudes showed up, beers in hand, claiming their seats. I remember my first show at Town Hall, 1999 (or was it the 2001 shows?), when some people took their front-row seats well into the set, like 4-5 songs in, and without missing a beat, Jeff included "You're late" in whatever lyric he was singing at that moment. Haha. It was nice to see the audience standing up and rocking out, it seemed to make for a good -

Thanks. I am well out of the pop-culture and Beatles loops, but that song was funny. -

Two photos of the venue: It wasn't just a stage in an open field. Paul pointed out to me that the beer silos next to/behind the stage were reminiscent of the silos at Sloss Furnaces. Always nice seeing a show in a cool, new (to me) setting. -

There was some nice sunset light behind John and Pat. I believe this lighting was used during I'm Always in Love. i thought it was pretty cool. Nels's third shirt of the night. Seems like every front yard up here has a pro- or anti- fracking sign, though I couldn't discern a clear majority. I'm sure Jeff was doing the hometown pandering thing that happens in every city, but I agree that this was good crowd and a good vibe. I enjoyed this show much more than Brooklyn, where a ton of people around me talked all night, both nights. At Cooperstown, everybody sang along to every song -

Oh, sorry - looks like they do offer bathrooms and water, but no showers. -

Melinda, there's a few campgrounds nearby - Gilbert Lake State Park and Belvedere Lake might still have open sites. Glimmerglass Lake State Park is already sold out. Probably better off not at Ommegang, as they don't have any facilities there for campers. The others have nice lakes for swimming too. -Rob -
Waiting in line before GA Wilco shows anybody have any tips?
Yaz Rock replied to SarahC's topic in Just A Fan
2-3pm should be fine, for 7pm doors, if you want to ensure being right up front. 1pm and you likely be person number 1. And anyone going to Birmingham looking for somethign else to do should look for Rickwood Field , it's old baseball stadium heaven. -
Interesting - I got Brooklyn Night 2 (1 ticket) right at 10am. Was repeatedly rejected for night 1 and then scored possibly the last ticket for Night 1 at 10:44am. Had to put in for 2 separate orders and pay for shipping twice. Frontgate sucks in this regard, TM would be cheaper.

Hm, there were people in line before those shows who couldn't give away their extra tickets. Maybe it was due to the threat of rain, but I've always seen people trying to unload tix at face value before the shows, even in the NYC area.

I think I've got 3 or 4. I also made one for myself, using graphics from the Wilco rest-stop off the highway in Pennsylvania and it's adjacent mobile chapel. I'm still waiting for them to make one with my signature quote from the Rock The River show in 2000.

Haha, no problem. Not the first and won't be the last time any topic gets double-posted. I don't have enough time and energy to have actually made that compilation on CD yet, but maybe now I'll be motivated to! Oh, man, now with The Whole Love, I might have to bump Handshake Drugs off my list for Born Alone. Helluva tough choice. And likely substitute One Sunday Morning for The Late Greats as well.

Anyone see the new Pearl Jam movie? There's a clip of them playing release in Italy in an absolute downpour. It was beautiful. One of my all-time favorite concert moments was seeing Soul Asylum a few years ago in the rain in New Haven. 3rd song in, they went off setlist and played Rain, I Can See Clearly Now, and one more which I think was Who'll Stop the Rain. The show goes on...

Nope, Solid Sound was August 14-15, 2010, not August 29. Early to mid August is usually hurricane-free. In any event, I kinda like having a good part of the summer to look forward to something, rather than getting it right off the bat. August just feels more right for a vacation to me.

I wanna hear "Intro" "Interview" and "new years eve countdown" at my shows. Happy to see Joe DiMaggio and Blasting Fonda on the list finally, though I'll doubt they'll top any voting list.
