  1. One of my favorite songs of all time. I've always thought "Kicking Television" was an ode to Television, however I've never read that in an interview or anything, just my own thoughts.
  2. I LOVE the Ashes from that show, Nels tears it up.
  3. I'm subleasing my 1BR apartment in chicago. It's located in Lakeview on Roscoe and Lakewood. All pets are allowed, it has a fenced in yard, dishwasher, storage area, laundry on site and tons more. Sublease would start Feb 1 or Feb 15, rent is $950 a month and the lease expires Aug 31. Please PM me if interested. This place is walking distance from The Vic and The Metro and tons of other sweet shit. Dave
  4. I've heard that comment about Radiohead, not Wilco though. Why do people think there is any other motive behind liking a certain band, besides just liking their music? I mean honestly, it's only music. By the way, I love Wilco and Radiohead, probably my two favorite current bands. I doubt I know more about music than half of you.
  5. This is quite the album. Some shoegazers are describing it as "noodley", but it's more SM just shredding all over the album. It's very melodic and the guitar work is fantastic.
  6. I think the most respectful way would be to go through management. If they're a smaller band, i don't think it matters as much, but it is Wilco and Tweedy is pretty much a dream interview for most magazines.
  7. Here ya go. It's an MPEG-4 Audio File from 10-13-2006 from The Sunset Station in San Antonio, Texas. Sorry it's not lossless but it's just one file, not the whole show. Enjoy. http://www.mediafire.com/?9iybd3m4qxk
  8. YHF was the first Wilco record I owned, and I got it right about the time it came out. At first listen I knew it was something different than I'd ever heard before but I didn't know why. I then listened to it every day for about a month and kept finding new things I loved about it. It's such a good album to me because of that fact, even though I've listened to YHF about 200 times, I still find something new that I've never actually "heard" before in the album.
  9. Maybe I'm not following you correctly, but I'd check out "Your Were Right" by Built to Spill. I think that's a perfect example of Metafiction in music, but it might be too obvious to be labeled as Metafiction. Hell, this if the first time I've ever heard of Meafiction so I could be way off.
  10. Can someone upload this show?
  11. Your taste is pretty diverse. With The Kinks at the top of your list, I'll recommend you A Band of Bees, or known in the UK as The Bees. http://www.last.fm/user/TheSzabo/
  12. Maybe he's taking the picture?
  13. Seen them 7 times starting on NYE 2003 with The White Stripes. I was fortunate enough to catch Kliph and Stephen backstage at the All Good festival in 2005 and my girlfriend at the time and I were asked to dress in animal costumes and dance on stage with them that night for their 10pm performance. Well, there were storms later that day, and we started drinking whiskey. The Lips were pushed pack to a 2am slot and it couldn't have been a better day/night for me. One of the most fun times of my life.
  14. Ben Folds Five - Whatever and Ever Amen

    New Year's Eve

    Did they totally jam out?
  16. Has anyone seen in any credit that it's actually "Someone Elses Song"? I'm not too sure, that's a pretty traditional progression which has probably been played since the 1940's.

Why Salt Lake City of all places?
  18. Just saw that in the store for the first time yesterday, actually looks decent!
  19. That's the best list I've seen so far. I'm sick of seeing that shotty Panda Bear album as everyones #1.
  20. Uncle Tupelo was a St. Louis band. They broke up. Jeff and John moved to Chicago when Wilco was formed, right? Wilco is a Chicago band and Uncle Tupelo was a St. Louis band. Jesus you guys bitch and moan about the dumbest things.
  21. I think it's a phenomenal lineup. I went in 2006, but now it looks to be a camping only thing at Big Cypress. If I could drive there I'd do it, but just don't have the time.
  22. My god, thank you. I will be treating myself after christmas!
  23. That is AMAZING, i'd love to get my hands on that poster!
  24. Here are a few of mine, what are yours?
  25. How many 5 day passes were sold? I"m grateful that they are doing this, but it seems like more of an event where people would want to attend all 5 days.
