  1. I will defer to Pop Todd on this matter since I have never been to this place. I have also seen footage of what goes on and if all you want is good fast food, with less of a show, there are literally hundreds of hot dog stands in Chicago that are good. But if you want a show and possibly get insulted, hit this place up; if you want a good burger, hot dog or Italian beef place, there are plenty of other places to go. LouieB
  2. I have not yet heard any of this, but the inital review I read makes me at least somewhat interested in buying this, something I have never done with any of the other barrel scrapings of Hendrix material. Since most of these cuts are relatvvely free of over dubbing, it appears that they are at least somewhat the way Jimi would have wanted. That's a good thing. Anxious to hear A-man's assessment when it comes to him in the mail. LouieB
  3. But his singing wasn't too bad. LouieB
  4. Yea, maybe, I dunno....These were all new when I heard them, so I may have confused which was which. LouieB
  5. I liked this...wasn't much of a song, but it gave Glenn a chance to do a drum solo as I recall.... LouieB
  6. I would buy the vinyl but am also download stupid. I couldn't even figure out how to download an EP I bought the other day. LouieB
  7. Yea, like they don't have anything else to do. This article was on page three which is now the most lightweight material (obviously). It used to be that these pages had hard news, but now they are basically the Red Eye. Considering the Trib has shrunk the size of the pages, it is amazing they have time and space for these kinds of stories. Then again....it IS Wilco. LouieB
  8. This place made the Trib today. See below for cute suggestions for sandwiches. LouieB Eatery serves up hefty slice of Wilco 6:21 PM CST, March 4, 2010 Years ago, when the band was still opening for other acts, Wilco played a large concert hall in Detroit. A person in the front row was eating a sandwich, the paper wrapping unfurled along the lip of the stage, for easier handling. Jeff Tweedy, leader of the Chicago band, stopped in midsong. "Do I come to where you work and eat my lunch on your desk?" he asked. Then he stared at the man until the offending meal was removed from the st
  9. I thought Precious was very good. LouieB
  10. i can't believe it is here again. I have not listened to everything from last year.... LouieB
  11. Agreed....Ebert is not the least bit stuffy at all. It is good to see him soldiering on, but how sad. LouieB
  12. I finally found a vinyl copy of Muswell Hillbilles. I had heard this years ago I suppose, but I forgot how good this one is (better than Village Green). Arthur may still be my favorite howver. LouieB
  13. 5% off online deliveries. Wonder how far they deliver?? LouieB
  14. I agree, but I think one must have to be somewhat of a long time fan to realize these guys are back in top form. LouieB
  15. Yes.....and I believe it mostly. Wild Horses is a simply great song. LouieB
  16. It is showing up for $51 used on Amazon today. The vagaries of the market are incredible. LouieB
  17. What CD are you guys talking about? I tried to follow your thread and still couldn't figure it out. LouieB
  18. I suspect it is just rumors, but what the heck. LouieB
  19. Maybe this one will feature Gram Parsons singing with the Stones, if such legendary material actually exists... LouieB
  20. There are two versions I like... The one Jeff sang at the first Near North Montessori show which I requested and the other in the sound check at the theater in Madison Wisc one rainy day when a couple of us snuck in and heard it on the sly. That one sounded JUST like Dylan. Not seeing him sing it, I swore it was a tape. LouieB
  21. Apparently Chicago bluesman Lonnie Brooks is being inducted. I can't figure out how he got the nod and not some more important folks. LouieB
  22. Yea some shock....sounded like McCain was still running for President. If the Dems are smart (a stretch at this point...) they should pass a short, succinct bill with basic stuff (no denial for pre-existing conditions, etc.) take out the bullshit (the Nebraska compromise) and pass the fucking thing through reconciliation; then go back and hammer out the more complex stuff. Once they show that they are serious, maybe the rest will come easier. LouieB
  23. I agree. In some ways it is better than the material on some of the Rubin albums, since it is material collected and picked by Johnny himself, with guitar played by him. The Cash estate did us a favor by releasing this. LouieB
  24. I think they did that when we taped them at the High Dive. Maybe it will make the DVD. LouieB
  25. Thanks....so it was from THAT venue. There was a taper at Schubas when we filmed them there. I wonder if that kind of stuff shows up?? LouieB
