  1. Just about every show I have seen at Pritzger in the last couple years (although not all) has had a video screen on stage which is viewable from the lawn. I would assume that they will use this for Wilco as well. Pritzger does not utilize video screens right on the lawn, which is why I guess they are saying it is for listening only. The lawn can get kind of noisy actually and don't sit on it for free shows and certainly would think twice about it if you can't get close enough to see the screen on stage. LouieB
  2. Bernie actually did great in Nevada. But the south is going to be a tough sell. Meanwhile since I gave him money a couple times, his campaign is begging more. I think I will hold on to my cash until after super Tuesday and see what gives at that point. I think the anti-Hillary/pro-Bernie folks are going to have to do some serious soul searching fairly soon. People may not like/trust her, but the specter of a Trump/Rubio /Cruz presidency has to bring some of them to their senses. LouieB
  3. Early early warning. is this a benefit? Like the last time? LouieB
  4. Jeb's epic fail brings an end to the old Republican Party. We are now left with the Trump/Cruz/Rubio wing of the party controlling the conversation. Two of the three are clearly religious zealots and the third is a neo-fascist. Of course there is some overlap here I guess. I am still predicting the actual show down between Hillary and Rubio, but it is possible that Trump could prevail. I just can't see the convention giving Trump the nomination. (And yes, even though I support Bernie, his gradual elimination seems obvious. I find it particularly humorous that the two candidates are ar
  5. The closest thing we have to a middle of the road candidate in this election is Hillary Clinton (and boy is she smack dab in the middle.) . In a normal year Hillary would be a shoe in (she probably is anyway) because she espouses extremely mainstream ideas and attitudes, but if the disgruntled Bernie supporters (if he doesn't win) decide to stay home on election day this election could be remarkably close. Everyday I read the paper and I'm simply amazed at how crazy the GOP is. Then I scan the internet and realize that the Democrats are as fractured as the GOP really. LouieB
  6. Michael Savage is a made up name. Dan Savage is actually his name. Other than that I am sure they would get along fabulously. I can't figure out how they decided to stick Steve Dahl between Limbaugh and Savage. Strange programming on that station. LouieB
  7. Not sure what my word count has to do with anything, but it's still creepy. What. no one ever dies?? LouieB
  8. If there were any shred of a question that there was foul play the family and his associates certainly would want an autopsy, but since they declined one, I guess if there is a conspiracy they are in on it. Maybe the family killed him so that this could be a major issue in the election. Sheesh, this is too strange to even talk about at any length. Both creepy and stupid all at the same time. LouieB
  9. I dunno.....I think people watch too many X-Files or watch to many conspiracy shows. The guy was on a hunting trip in a remote part of West Texas at an exclusive resort. He was an older man, carrying a few extra pounds and apparently had health problems. Let's be honest, if you gotta go, dying in your sleep or close to it in the later years of your life on a hunting trip (if you like that sort of thing) seems like a pretty good way to go. Look at all the musicians we have been talking about who have died in recent months; no one suggests that they were murdered even though most were well
  10. I do sometimes. I guess that means Obama is trying to murder me. LouieB
  11. Yea, I suppose arguing over the language of the Constitution is what this is all about. It ain't gonna happen any time soon, that's for sure. LouieB
  12. Not exactly. The actual Constitution says that the president "appoints". I just looked it up this AM. The interpretation may be that the president nominates, but that's not what was written. LouieB
  13. I have a headache too......this election can't be over soon enough. If Obama is smart (which I believe he is), he is going to pick a moderate to fill this slot and let it ride. There will be plenty of shenanigans with this appointment which will in fact impact the election. Let them argue, nothing is getting done anyhow. Its a good thing this country has no problems that need fixing. And by the way - the president appoints (not nominates) members of the Supreme Court, so while the Senate gets to advise and consent on this stuff it is up to the president to make the decision. Of course no
  14. Well I missed notifying everyone about the Boulez show we did a couple weeks ago, but here is your chance to hear something completely different, which I doubt anyone will be cause it is going to be at 6-7 AM central time (as usual on WNUR.org or 89.3 FM in Chicago.) Because it is so early I am playing an hour of early music meaning jazz, blues, pop, gospel, country from before 1935, including material from the acoustic era (pre-1926.) Despite the early time and early material it is still going to be a load of lo-fi fun. Join me won't you? Come- on!!!! LouieB
  15. I watched a whole bunch of the debate until I got tired of it. Bernie needs to wing it more. Both of them are already starting to look really old and tired.(and I should know I am old and tired myself.) I agree, not much to say. Let's get this thing over with and move to the general all ready. LouieB
  16. Really get over it. LouieB
  17. OH and I guess I was wrong about Marco Rubio. I guess John Kasich is going to be the next President of the US of A. LouieB
  18. The piece in the Voice is so beside the point. Since the primaries are still in full swing everyone can certainly think Hillary is a hack and that Bernie is the future (actually I'm voting for him because he seems to be the distant past which seems so much more attractive than the recent past.) So let's see how this all shakes out and then everyone has to decide on a whole new game come this summer. You all know the drill. LouieB
  19. Yea, it's great. I was lucky enough to see this tour which was somewhat bizarre but memorable for it's Vegas like vibe. The album, though poorly mixed, is mostly really great. (I know I am repeating myself.) LouieB
  20. It's hard to keep up. Did anyone mention Kevin Junior back a couple weeks? He even had a Wilco connection. Because there are so many musical figures that are so important to so many people that have come to the fore since the 50s and 60s, this is going to go on for a very long time. Many many people (including some of us) are entering the red zone. LouieB
  21. I was sad to see it wasn't Super Bowl L. LouieB
  22. I have always like Street Legal in general (not every tune) and while the CD reissue sounds better than the LP I played the LP so much back in the day I don't care. LouieB
  23. Wellstone was incredible. What lies were told? I actually knew someone (an acquaintance) who was in the plane when he went down. Sad day to be sure. LouieB
