Fading was far more in vogue in those days...... LouieB

Does that mean I have to drag down my LP? Too early....okay, you got me....playing it now...the time on it is 3:10...yup...it isn't after the verse...it is after a long series of couplets, I am sure that is the way they planned it. LouieB

I hope to see it soon and will post up if I do, but I suspect that some other more dedicated VCer will start one first. LouieB

No man..I meant the thread that describes people who have actually seen this movie, not all the speculation (of which I was one...) LouieB

Despite all the drawbacks, this is still going to be a gas.... LouieB -
I am not sure the Virginian IS left out. I just think that Blacklisted and Furnace are far bigger sellers. Actually her albums are on Mint and maybe the Virgiinian is not being licensed by by Anti at this time. I was at Bloodshot the other day and asked about this and apparently the license to Bloodshot has run out and Nico has pulled this stuff back. I think it is slightly short sighted on her part, but what do I know (nothing.) Reissuing Fox so soon after it was released seems to be a blatant attempt to get us fans to re-buy and album we just bought. LouieB

What's the point?? Doesn't McDonalds now have extensive menus that include salads? I have no idea, since I don't step foot in them unless I have to use the bathroom only.... .....usually you can get away with that.... LouieB

Thanks....I saw Brian do a solo show and an audience member requested a song called "Party Boy" which I had never heard and is not on any BR CD to my knowledge.... LouieB

My thought exactly....also I thought it was interesting that Jeff sings the alternate version lyrics...of course.... Mansfield was in the Alpha Band too.... Nels is on the cuts with the Million Dollar Bashers...also evident on the liner notes.... Has anyone seen the actually movie yet? No one has started at thread. It opened here yesterday to a decent review in the Trib. LouieB

Chicago's Thrill Jockey 15th Anniversary Party

Ageist... Actually Logan Square is usually all ages. It is not a bar, it is a rented hall (it is an old neighborhood ethnic banquet/event hall) so I assume everyone can go. I spoke to Tim Tuten about this. He was at the TJ shows in London and I mentioned that Logan Square leaves alot to be desired. He was mildlyl surprised but did acknowledge that the sound is less than superb. I wondered about Tortoise too. LouieB -
I just looked at the calendar and realized that the two last Tuesdays in the year are holidays so I guess Von is out. LouieB

not that anyone gives a "shit", but I voted for Wendy's becasue I have always liked their chicken sandwiches. Subway is always better food (in some respects) but so totally uninteresting as food that I hate to eat there. It is the one fast food joint you can go with vegeterian friends if necessary. LouieB

M. Ward needs the work I guess... LouieB

If there were a Thanksgiving show wouldn't it be this weekend?? LouieB

Actually I don't...do you? Send me a copy...... LouieB

Exactly...last night was closer to 11 and the place was nicely populated, although both Von and I were expecting a light crowd. Despite the fact that the New Apartment's sign is down, things are still going on here on Tuesdays and I know I am a freak about this, but this is a scene not to be missed. I plan to go back around Christmas, which is always festive. Just to recap, Von and the guys (drums, bass{not the regular guy, but the replacement was excellent too}, and guitar) started at about 11, a bit later than usual, since Von dragged in late, but played as a combo until about 12:30 an

No shit!! Partially I think it is his anti-Iraq and drug war stances.... LouieB

The hypothecial one we have been discussing here for years.... I think a duets solo Tweedy album, with many of his past collaborators and contemporaries such as Brian, Califone, the Handsome Family, Jim O'Rourke, Tortoise, Robbie Fulks etc. etc. would be a gas, but I am pretty sure he isn't going to do it simply because we are asking. With friends like that...... Actually I know any number of Democrats who are drooling over Ron Paul as well. The idea of a candidate who is simply going to give a message that never changes is sort of reassuring if completely unreal. Sure we all that like the idea that a person is going to stick to an ideological position through thick and thin (we have a governor like that in IL by the way....) and try and deliver on that ideology is very appealing. But as the expression goes " two things you never want to see made are sausage and legislation". Governing and politics is the art of compro
