  1. I saw that earlier. I want it for my little Nels, seriously. I bet he's like some little Michael Jordan goldfish just waiting for his potential to be discovered.
  2. How does he feel about space-stuff? I think this is way cool. Lots of cool science goodies on that site. Even if you don't actually order from there, maybe a bit of browsing will at least give you some ideas to keep in mind while browsing toys-r-us or something. Good luck!
  3. I mean "really good" in a "not good" way, which is good.
  4. Yeah, I was thinking Myspace is more of a ten year old girls and pedophiles scene.
  5. That looks really good. I've never seen it but I'm going to as soon as I can. Thanks!
  6. I had some peeps over at my house last night and they brought along a guy I haven't met before. He noticed my Wilco goodies and was admiring my autographs/stub. I loaned him "Learning How to Die." It was neato.
  7. I had Thanksgiving at my brother's new house today. It was a relief because this is the first time in my adult life that I haven't been in charge of putting everything together. The spread was less than spectacular but not too shabby. I probably put on five pounds today. Turkey 3x Macaroni and cheese (and it was totally boss because I made it) Stuffing Green Bean Casserole 2x Candied Yams (also totally boss because I made it) 2x Cranberries Corn (but very little because it was icky) Mashed taters and white gravy Corn chips Chocolate cream pie A gas station microwaved burger (soggy ickynes
  8. You can't be serious. Someone should plot the data on how often certain threads come up so we can get some kind of nifty chart to look at.
  9. I'm coming next time and if the bong is cashed, I say we crack open that can of paint and start inhaling.
  10. I too am thankful the election turned out the way I wanted it to! And... for the continued support and companionship of my awesome old friends. for the exciting potential in new friendships. for having grown the balls I needed to take control of my life. for free food, because I'd be really hungry with out it. for my family, especially my dad who would give me his last dollar if I needed it and my girl-spawn who continues to send my heart into overdrive with so much incredible love.
  11. "I See a Darkness" hooked me right away but after many listens, I love "Lie Down in the Light" just as much. It's a "grower," I think. I've been listening to it an awful lot for the past month. The lyrics are right up my alley right now.
  12. It tastes like regular Dr. Pepper minus the sugar (which is not great.) They both give me mad gas.
  13. I tried and it timed out or something. So, not only do I get no free beverage, I had 35 precious seconds of my life stolen from me! I prefer Cherry Coke anyhow.
  14. Thanks everyone! I love birthday threads. You all give me the warm fuzzies!
  15. The Smiths - Asleep Somebody else might have mentioned it already. So depressing. Sing me to sleep Sing me to sleep I'm tired and I I want to go to bed Sing me to sleep Sing me to sleep And then leave me alone Don't try to wake me in the morning 'Cause I will be gone Don't feel bad for me I want you to know Deep in the cell of my heart I will feel so glad to go Sing me to sleep Sing me to sleep I don't want to wake up On my own anymore Sing to me Sing to me I don't want to wake up On my own anymore Don't feel bad for me I want you to know Deep in the cell of my heart I really
  16. I'm reviving the general vibes thread because my birthday week is getting off to a rough start. Every possible realm of my life is shit right now (except for my daughter, she's awesome as ever so there is that). Maybe this should mark the start of the stressful holiday season for all of us...let's all stuff our turkeys with vibes.
  17. Or recognizing it and ignoring it. I think it's a lot easier for people to say, "Ah, it's nothing. They'll get over it." and go on about their life than it is to stop and really try to help someone who is clearly hurting and going under. We humans can be an awfully selfish lot.
  18. While Gareth really floats my boat, Fiona of the Drones ain't too shabby:
  19. Received via Mike Watt: WILLIAM McKEEN, Professor and Chair University of Florida Department of Journalism P.O. Box 118400, Gainesville, Fla. 32611 Voice: 352/392-0500; Fax: 352/846-2673 Home page: http://williammckeen. com Dear friends, After hearing a rumor about Odetta's health, I phoned her manager this evening and he confirmed for me that Ms. Odetta is receiving treatment in a New York hospital, where she will be for at least another week. It's Odetta's goal to recover and be in good health so she can perform as planned at Obama's inauguration, Doug told me. Odetta would apprec
