What were these girls thinking in this day and age.
yermom replied to Pocahontas's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
I've met homeless guys in their twenties who managed to play it as a "cool" thing. They are grungy punkish guys who like to complain about capitalism and refuse to conform to this whole "personal hygiene" thing. Other activities include crashing on people's (suckers who work to pay rent) couches, drinking everyone else's booze, smoking everyone else's cigarettes and screwing teenage girls who are flattered that an older guy wants to bang them. -
...and they pick out some really choice selections to repeat to anyone who will listen.

Sweet Jesus, yes! If my pants could "tighten," they would have just now. I absolutely love what Dosh does with him, but I'm excited to see how this might turn out.

...and now I've shaved the rash!!!

I wore shorts and a sleeveless top while weed-eating the bejesus out of what I later realized was poison ivy.

Many vibes, Froggie. What a horrible thing to have happen.

I liked that too. Practically sig material.

I thought "whoa..." too. I thought, "Heck, that'd get me crying. Even if I didn't know the departed, that play list would bring forth the salt waters."

They're cool live but the album gets old for me after a while. Can't get enough of "In Our Talons" though. NP:

I almost went to see this today. I keep hearing that it blows. I figure, I better watch it to see what all the fuss is about. I'll probably check it out tomorrow.

Is this the taping where Jeff mentions you by name?

I do the "wooo!" and hand claps when I'm at home or in the truck even if someone is around. I'm a big dork though, and most anyone around me already expects such dorkiness of me. "Woooooo!!!"

I know! What's bothering me the most is that I want to know who did it! I want to kick them in their teeth! I hope it was someone hungry, and they bought food with it. One can only hope. Do the people who use stolen cards usually get caught? Does anyone know/have experience with this? Since it's reported stolen, will a cashier be alerted to the fraudulent use if the fraud tries to use it again?
-
Yeah, I called Visa as soon as I saw the weird "I didn't do that!" charges. I lost a small cosmetic bag on Wednesday. All I had in it was the one card and my make-up junk. I really thought no one would try to use the card, I actually thought someone would turn it in! I am so naive sometimes. My faith in humanity is being tested lately, this incident will not help!

Aw crap...things were starting to look up until today I find out that the debit card I lost last week is being used! Some jerk is overdrawing my bank account! This is so not cool. Someone PM me a bottle of rum, I need to "escape" for a while. Vibes to you folks in the flood areas. Those photos are insane.

What's the price of gas where you are?
yermom replied to Twisted Acres's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
I stopped at a small gas station yesterday (I think it was right at $4), and they had the older pumps where the numbers roll over like this: Only with room for four digits. Because the price of gas is so high, they had to set the pump at half-price, so that if you want $30 of gas, you pump to $15 on the read-out. The gallons are accurate and you pay the $30 inside. There were little notes on neon paper all over it, "Set to half-price!!" "Only pump half of what you want!!!" I should have taken a picture to look back on in the future when gas is crazy cheap for a good laugh. -
Aw man, I'll gladly share my vibes with Paul any day. Whatta fox! Swoooon!

Via Chicago's Top 100 Albums of All Time: Summer 2008 edition

I'm in and very happy that we have so long to work on it! -
"Things the Grandchildren Should Know" might be good. They played it at my brother's funeral. It was certainly a sad occasion but the absolute cheesiness of that selection made me smile through the tears. For me, "The Diamond Sea" and "Mountain Bed" are definitely on the list.
