Any chance at all that weak ticket sales had anything to do with it? The new dates actually give me greater hope at being able to make a show, so that's good!
-
Not too sure about that one. Glenn is a tough one to find a match for. He's got the movie-star good looks thing down on his own. Maybe we should be checking model's resumes instead of actors?

How can they not be related or something?! I think it's uncanny!

Cusack?! Cooler, yes! Cheeky enough, certainly not. I cannot believe I am so fully engaged by this thread.

...and I'm throwing this out there because it makes me laugh:

I've actually thought about how Philip S. Hoffman would be a good Jay B. I think about how much Patrick Fugit looks like Jeff on a pretty regular basis. Good casting calls!

Upon seeing an ad for this show, my initial response was "Yeah, that's gonna last forever. We've got the new "Price is Right" right there.

Right over here is a clip. Not bad, I guess. It has been posted around these parts before. You might search for the thread about the movie.

Out of curiosity...did you manage to quit smoking by some other method? -

Yeah, that sounds about right. I've got no beef with anyone who finds that prescriptions are very beneficial to them. I'd have beef with an awful lot of people if I did! The whole pharmaceutical industry is such a mess though. Americans are so sucked into the idea that we need pills to get by. I'm sure there are some outrageous numbers I could be quoting here regarding how many kids there are out there who were quickly prescribed meds for ADHD or the like which they were diagnosed with by someone who may or may not know what the hell they are talking about. Not to mention all the men and -

Has Jeff ever talked about Elliott Smith in interviews etc
yermom replied to junkbond_trader's topic in Someone Else's Song
Smith is one of the few tragic artists I managed to get into before they actually met their tragic end. I find it very sad that you believe his talent was only made possible through his drug use. I was heartbroken when he died and the reason why is that I've always felt many of his songs were really rather hopeful in a beautiful way. I used to work as a janitor at a movie theater where I would begin work around midnight and sometimes remain there until sunrise, alone in the auditoriums with Either/Or echoing in from my portable cd player plugged in down the hall. It is a pleasant thought to th -

You serious? I don't read sarcasm well in text form. You aren't serious, right? Edit: Spelling...d'oh. -
You should just go both nights...why not? I guess if there is something reaaaally awesome that you could be doing on one of the nights as an alternative to the show, then that's something. But seriously, double shot of Wilco...why pass up on that if you don't have to? Edit: To actually answer your question. I've never done the two-nighter thing but from what I can see via set lists, I'd say the second night won't be terribly different...just a few change-ups but the crowd-band energy could be a whole different experience from one night to the next, so...there is that.

I will likely be at the Flying Saucer before the show anyhoo -checked out the website after it's mention here...looks fun. So, I'd love to meet you awesome folks and any details that are normally sorted out via PM -count me in on those.

I'm guessing the "aggressive marketing" would be aimed at physicians and executed by Pharmaceutical Sales Reps. I can't imagine why anyone would love that job but on multiple occasions I have overheard young people expressing their desire to do that "when they grow up." It's insane how pill-dependent we are becoming. Sometimes it seems like everyone is on something for some problem. My Dad, who is eighty-one, offers to let me select from his buffet of pills (includes the -codones) every time I mention the slightest discomfort (toothache, headache, etc.) I decline...I don't even take Tylenol -
Today was the first day of Fall semester and I discovered that my Algebra class doesn't being until five weeks into the semester...so I've got several weeks of an easy schedule ahead of me. W00t! Also, this month marks the tenth anniversary of my relationship with the swellest fella I've ever met. "My first, my last, my eveverrrrrything..." Plus, we've got an awesome kid with her third birthday coming up and I'm at this point where I couldn't be more pleased with and proud of the little family we've built together.

I'm on a Bukowski kick now and I'm finding that I much prefer him to Kerouac. Burroughs was always my favorite of that Beat inner circle anyway.

Yup. Got mine last week. Woohoooo!
