  1. The pox don't actually make their way on to one's hands/fingers do they? That would be a pretty big bummer in this particular case too.
  2. Cities of the Underworld? I dig that one too. "No cameras have been permitted in this ancient tomb...until now!" (Queue dramatic music.) I've checked Ice Road Truckers out a couple of times...it is a little disappointing in the excitement department but guys driving these huge loads across frozen lakes is something I didn't know about before. I was particularly intrigued by the show because I have brothers in the trucking business so I thought maybe watching it would give me fuel for future conversations I might have with them.
  3. Apparently the Doubletree Hotel is actually joined to the Robinson Center but there are no rooms available for booking on Sept. 18th? Grrrrrrrrrr. Could this have anything to do with the show being there that night? Are there mobs and mobs of Wilco-goers that have already booked the place up? This is very frustrating. How awesome it would be if there were a room available. Soooo convenient. Edit: Apparently I can get a room if I book for two nights. WTF? I am now puzzled by the devious methods of the Hiltons in so many ways.
  4. My initial reaction to the preview and to another preview I've seen recently (can't remember what for) was, "Didn't Wes Anderson already make this movie...like, three times?"
  5. Any MySpace "friends" of Eef will already know about this but there is a video for "I Love the Unknown" tied to Rocket Science here. Ugh...music videos. It suffers a bit from the "shot in the arm syndrome." The song is so much better than the video makes it seem but oh well, any success heading Eef's way that might come from this is long overdue.
  6. Here are some for checking out... http://wilcoworld.net/photos/0706.php And here is a current thread with some entries for this year posted.
  7. Yeah, that "Girls Don't Care" is very goooood. I can't find the lyrics anywhere so I tried to just hear them out myself and messaged the Eef Myspace profile some time back for confirmation on accuracy but alas, no reply.
  8. He IS freaking great. Whenever I'm chilling at home with the headphones or in the car (without headphones) and blasting the Eef or Clem stuff, I'm always dropping my jaw at how awesome he is and how strange it is that Clem never broke through any further after 'Moment in the Sun" as the "Ed" theme. Too few people are listening to Eef. He is amazing...great lyrics (funny, tender, true), great energy in the music, awesome vocal stylings, all around amazing sound. How could anyone not fall in love with him after hearing "Enrique Iglesias' Mole?" I guess Clem's run is finished, right? But there

    Nels sick?

? Many sincere get well (((((vibes))))) to Nels.
  10. I've seen the others mentioned above but have not seen the Casino Queen video. Anyone have a link to that?
  11. I'm trying to figure out where I should be making my hotel reservations. The Doubletree is booked according to the website. The Marriott is a little pricey but looks to be within a comfortable walking distance of the Robinson Center. Are any other out of towners around here going? Any locals got tips on where to stay/where to eat/shady parts of town to avoid? I'm sooo excited about the show...will only be my second Wilco show. Thanks for any help you peeps can throw my way!
  12. From the official website of the Florida House of Reps. under Allen's page... Because I'm hip to all the pervy lingo, I lol'd.
  13. Awesome lunch at a new(er) coffee shop in town that I had yet to visit until today. Chicken and swiss on wheat berry bread with pepper-onion mix all grilled up and delicious. With a reasonably tasty pasta salad and a very yummy 4-Berry smoothie. Yuuuuuuuum.
  14. We've had the cd around for awhile but I hadn't gotten around to listening to it until I saw him as Dr. Stringz on Jack's Big Music Show. Very cute bit. After a few listens in the car the other day, I'm really digging the album.
  15. I've heard of this movie but for some reason the fact that it belongs to Todd Haynes has escaped me until now. Todd Haynes = good stuff.
  16. Regarding your avatar... My buddy once wore a shirt with the Jerry hand print on the back of it to high school. He was sent home because the principal argued that it was meant to mean "f*ck the world." Needless to say, my friend was very frustrated with the administrator's mistake.
  17. Still is in my 'hood! Mountain hippy hillbillies...good people, taught me lots of cool things my city poppa never could have.
