That's really Zach's farm and tractor too! I really enjoy the Comedians of Comedy movie that's been showing on tv recently. Apparently, there was a tv series at some point but I missed out on that one.

Where are you getting your news? Grocery check-out line?

I'm signing up for this. I imagine the quilt will be presented to the band as a whole and that it can gather dust in the loft or maybe not. Hey, my jeans are comfy and I'd use a blanket made of them (maybe tour buses are especially cold) or they could even give it to Tony as a Christmas gift...who knows what would become of it. Quilts are often meant as an art piece or thoughtful gift before they are actually meant to have any utility these days anyhow. I just think it's a nice idea and that it's the thought that counts and all of that. Quilting is an awesome craft. I'm in. While I am in anyho

I'm always surprised to see the safety-inspection certificate things in elevators expired but I see it all of the time in hospitals, offices, etc.

Not too shabby looking lot.

Backpack Facts (from a poll of girls 11 to 18) What about those backpacks? New ones will go home with 66 percent of the girls. Even more use backpacks (72%) or messenger bags (7%) - so, we conclude, only 13 percent will be seen with last year's bag. Jansport is the hands-down favorite brand, according to 29 percent of the respondents. Other brands named were Eastpak and LL Bean (tied for second with 5 percent each), and Tommy Hilfiger, Gap and Nike (tied for third place with 2 percent each). Old Navy and Roxy (1% each) and Eddie Bauer (less than 1%) also made the list, but barely. The cooles

I was actually tapped for one of these "careers" as well. I was looking for a job and a guy who I vaguely know as a friend of a friend of a friend introduced me to a guy who was "hiring." The guy had me meet him at a local Shoney's restaurant. According to a Shoney's employee this is where he always conducts these little "interviews." He didn't care much about my qualifications, mostly he just hyped up what he was offering.."See this little umbrella, this means Citigroup is one big, awesome company over all these smaller awesome enterprises, like Primerica!" "One of the largest companies in t

I've got 368 cataloged thus far and I'd say those took maybe four hours. The lugging them from the shelves to the computer and back for checking ISBNs takes the longest.

It's the only one of these Wilco/VW ads that I've seen that I really like at all. I think it's cute. The guy is some kind of smack head or something looking to make a quick buck on a stolen car but once he gets in there with the Wilco going and everything, he starts to soften up. When you get into the Wilco, the Wilco gets into you.

We share four books! Yay! Isn't librarything neato?! I want one of those bar code scanner things for lightening fast cataloging.

librarything.com is a pretty cool site where you can catalog your books online. I'm so psyched about this and I think it's going to make my book collecting much easier. You can view some of my books here (I've yet to add them all): http://www.librarything.com/profile/llynnowens Does anyone else have one? If you've got a fair amount of books, you should sign up! (It's free!)

The Fat Bastard wasn't my thing. I'm still working on finding out what sorts of wine I actually like...it's been a bit tough because I live in a dry county and can't buy a glass here and a glass there unless I'm eating out of town (and then I usually just go with something I already know I like because I hate to be disappointed at $4 a glass). Tonight I'm giving this one a go...I like it rather well (but i knew that was going to be the case because sparkly things usually agree with me):

Top Ten Things To Send To College With My Daughter
yermom replied to trestle's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Really comfy, great-looking shoes. Because you wanna look swell but if you're going to be hoofing it around campus, you've got to be kind to your tootsies as well. Also, a nice mattress topper/pad. Considering a lot of students don't get enough sleep, the sleep they do manage to pull off should be the maximum comfort kind so they've got a better chance at staying wake during the duller lectures. -
My notes on that list: I really liked that Garth Brooks song when I was a kid (I was ten and grew up in Oklahoma). As a teen, I loved DK's "California Uber Alles"...still do. "Little Boxes" is awesome...thank you to "Weeds!" "Strange Fruit" is mesmerizing...you'd be crazy not to be hypnotized by that on your first listen. Who doesn't love Marvin Gaye? I also would count Black Flag's "Rise Above" as a great song for raging against the man. ...and any number of Dylan songs.

I think Bukowski was a little displeased with O'Rourke. I haven't read Hollywood, Buk's take on the whole movie-making experience, but I do recall some interviews or anecdotal stuff that gave me the impression that he felt Mickey was a bit too much pf a pretty boy lost in his own manufactured image of toughness. For the record, I like Mickey Rourke and I can't remember if I've seen Barfly or not. It's available for download on Karagarga so maybe I'll check it out.
-
Isn't Barfly generally regarded as kind of a joke...a big let-down to Bukowski and his fans to have Mickey trying his "chops" at the role?

Wow. That Jada Pinkett thing is so awful. It's like she lost a bet or something.

Arghh....jealousy...argh.

$4,090. I think I'll just hang on to it a while longer. I could use the money but I think if I take good care of it, I might get a few more miles out of it without the value depreciating too much.

Or on party boats and sandy beaches during spring break, where they can lose their virginity and become Girls Gone Wild superstars all at once with a little help from their friends Jack and Jager?
