  1. At the Indy show, someone made a remark (and Jeff mentioned it from the stage) that they ought to play Comment and that would get rid of all the gnats that were swarming all around. Or something like that. Jeff didn't seem amused.
  2. I saw you guys. Your 2 YO was having a better time than the 2 YO in the 4th row next to me. He kinda lost it as the main set was winding down. Your little guy seemed to be lovin it. Yes, badu2fan, I think Wilco generally allows small camera's, and this venue didn't seem to have issues with it. I put some pics up on the web here. Some better than others... (ed: not as nice as Keith's...) I talked to the taper on Pat's side in about row 6 or 7. He said he'd post here on the board when he has it. Happening, sorry I missed meeting you. Next time. I'm ready to do it all over again!
  3. At 5:30 AM today in Indy, there was this enormous clap of thunder & lightning and it poured down all morning. It was pretty sweet that it didn't show up 8 hours earlier... no rain on teh Wilcos! (Well, except for Alaska...) Yeah, I wondered about that, too. I had heard a rumor that there was going to be one for last night, but all I saw was the tour poster.
  4. Thanks Ditty. It was a splendid show. My first hoodoo voodoo. Plenty of gnats, but no Nudies. ("Put away. On ice.") Yes, we nailed the clapping on Spiders. ("Better than our hometown...") Great banter. Jeff was in good form. ("Keep drinking, sir.") There was one taper, and he said he'd post on etree and here. Got to meet Wendy and Miss Jayne and a couple others... and always good to see MB again. Couple pics attached... it's past my bedtime and I have to drive home early and go to work tomorrow (ignoring Jeff's advice that we should all quit work.) Good nite all...
  5. That thought had crossed my mind, Johnny... Thanks everybody. Yes, I just got back from Radiohead. Great show. Heard a couple faves I didn't expect (How to Disappear Completely, Climbing the Walls, and Fade Out as a closer). I'll look for you guys tomorrow. Vince
  6. haven't heard anything yet here.. I'll be in the 4th row on the Pat/John side. Where are you at? MB, where are you and Poca for this?
  7. I am highly optimistic that they make it at least as far south as Indy tomorrow...
  8. I'm not really buying the butter-churning thing.
  9. He folds the shirts, mows the lawn, AND he sews.... Sue has trained him well
  10. I just hope those suits get dry cleaned in time for Monday night!
  11. Looks like ticketmaster just released some choice seats for this show...
  12. Yes, I'm driving up for both. Kind of an end-of-summer R&R for me... Any plans for a VC meet up on Monday?
  13. I did and I do. Nicely done. It works. Vince
  14. Gutsy post, Kevin. A lot of people never get to the point that you're at of really knowing who they are and getting OK with that. Looks like you're one of the few who does. Hey, maybe people like that kind of person even more than an extrovert... you know - honest, sincere, real... all those things that actually matter. Peace, Vince
  15. I have given this several spins, and I like it a lot. I also thought it was going to be a grower at first, but it didn't take long.
  16. Watched Jumper last night from teh Netflix. Interesting premise, but disappointing.
  17. I wanted to like both of them when they came out, but they still keep falling to the bottom of my list. I'll pop one of them in from time to time, but they're not growers. The new one sounds quite good. Very excited about that.
  18. That is the one that continues to surprise me. We have a 16 YO daughter, and she will debate / argue with everything anyone tells her when she hears it. But she processes it, and you can always tell (later) that it sunk in. It still amazes me at times. Those are all really good, btw. To add a couple: Pick your battles. Consistency is key, but not everything is a federal case... Make sure that they feel comfortable bringing their friends to your home.
  19. The Blind Boys of Alabama did a version of Amazing Grace set to The House of the Rising Sun. It's breathtaking. Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. No one will have a clue who it is... they'll just think it's pretty. Love the irony. Mountain Bed is great, but people hearing it for the first time wouldn't get it. Same is probably true for Videotape, and Last Flowers. Those are really moving, emotional songs for me, but only 'cause I've heard them so much. I think On & On & On would be the Wilco song of choice.
  20. I, for one, am honored to be included in such fine company and will happily participate to the best of my ability.
  21. "only" 90. Took a day off of regular work to work in the yard. Started early, but it was most unpleasant by about 1. I'm quite done for the day. Shouldn't be this way in June.
