  1. There's another thread with the review stuff, etc here. Ditty, you might want to copy yours over there. As for the venue, it was a really nice theater, and I thought it was fine for a rock show except for the curfew which apparently shortened the set list considerably. Not sure if that's a venue thing or a city thing, but that was the only sucky part. Jeff's vocals were pretty low in the mix, but I was in the pit so I figured it was just because of that. And no, I was not "Mr. Community Service". That was mighty funny, though. Here's a shot of his arm... proof that it's not me.
  2. I'm seeing that if I read the last post in a thread, then it no longer shows up in the "new content" view. It used to show up with a faded folder for the session I was in. Then after I got out of that session (ie, closed the browser for a while), and got back in, it would no longer show up unless there was something new. But now the thread disappears from the new content view, and so there are no threads with the faded folder icon in that view. I liked the old way better, if anyone is looking for feedback... Vince
  3. Thanks Wendy! We're in, 6:30 sounds good. Looking forward to meeting folks old and new. AND IT'S THIS FRIDAY ! ! ! Seems like forever ago since the presale. The band is back in the States, the board is up and running again, school's out, and all was right with the world... see you all soon. Vince
  4. It's on the "latest news" section of the home page of CNN.com right now. Feels weird that something like this is what gets them on something like that. ed: link
  5. Thoughts and prayers to friends and loved ones. All the thoughts and stories here show what great people you all are.
  6. I predict a low turnout for the abstainers, but curious to see where we all are.
  7. Well, using "malarkey" and "wee" will get you profiled for sure... no wonder you're getting nowhere. As for a replacement social security card, good luck with that. I had to do that for my daughter when we tried to get her driving permit, and it was a major hoop-jumping event even in person. I can't imaging doing that remote control far, far away.
  8. Yeah, I noticed that too. From the pre-leak interviews and live songs, I expected a lot more Nels-centric songs. But I like that the keyboard / piano stuff is a little more out front. The piano in You Never Know is great.
  9. In two years, this board will be called Bull Black Nova.
  10. That's really great news, Donna! You all take care out there.
  11. I think any band worth their salt needs to have at least one song named after a car.
  12. I knew you'd buckle under the pressure ...
  13. I received my 6/12 Cinci pre-sale tickets today from FG via UPS . So, the "4 weeks ahead of the concert date" promise held up for mine quite well.
  14. So, I heard this live last summer (Indy / Aug). I recall it having a really cool prog-rock kind of chord progression / break down in the middle or toward the end, but I don't think that the studio version has that. Does that ring a bell with anyone else?
  15. I thought it was chronological. Wrong thread?
  16. I was kinda making a funny, since that was the opening line from the IATTBYH movie. Maybe it's not as inane as I thought it was. Maybe I should look up "inane".
  17. Via Chicago Reservations Muzzle of Bees
  18. I have had a similar mental wrestling match (aka "rationalization session"). And after a few days of avoiding the issue..... I caved. bittorrented it this morning .. on the Ipod and a CD for the car... and I plan to listen to it a lot and learn all the songs before Cinci. So there. Feel free to join. And I'll see ya in Cinci, btw! Vince
  19. Man, that Jacob dude really gets around.
  20. This was a way more interesting question when I put it up here 27 hours ago... what a difference a day makes. Still abstaining, fwiw.
  21. Happy Birthday, man. And to your Dahooey as well.
