  1. Videotape - Radiohead The Dreaming Tree - DMB Chemtrails - Beck Brain Damage - Pink Floyd Cataracts - Andrew Bird
  2. Well, at least he won the first round of the NIT last night against UNLV. Home court advantage, though. We played in our old gym / current practice gym which is literally just across the street from the team's dorm... But yeah, the pitchforks and torches await the inevitable tourny exit around this place lately...
  3. We need a better name for this decade.
  4. Joe Jackson - Night Music I Can Make a Mess Like Nobody's Business (self titled) Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here Steely Dan - pretty much any of them... Those often make my ipod list for long overnight flights. +1 for Useless Creatures.
  5. About half. My wife is a less-than-rabid fan for most of the stuff I'm interested in, so I'm OK with going alone sometimes, especially if I can get a good seat down front. I went by myself to the JT show at the Vic last month, and actually that was a little uncomfortable being alone since it's kind of an "intimate" setting.
  6. Mixed bag for me as well, depending on the song. In general, I find myself listening more to live shows than studio. Via Chicago live is a near-religious experience, and the studio version doesn't come close. I prefer many of YHF tracks on the studio version than live. Etc, etc...
  7. MARCH MADNESS BEGINNETH ! Unfortunately, the Cats are bringing a 4 game losing streak into the SEC tournament, and I think we're pretty much gonna have to ace the thing to get to the dance... At least we can root for Morehead State. Hoo boy
  8. does anyone think that the band considers any of their songs a "hit"?
  9. Me too. I have heard a couple of the songs live, but I don't plan to do what I did with SBS which was to gather up all the live recordings of the new songs and listen a lot prior to the release or even the stream. I didn't enjoy SBS as much after that, and don't want to do that again.
  10. Hey! There are a couple of us here in town, and I suspect a couple more lurkers... I'm planning on being out of town for pretty much all of the April tour, so Knoxville is unfortunately out. But I think they will swing back through and hit somewhere like Cinci or Lvl or even Indy... they always have.
  11. OK, the last three Wilco shows I
  12. As a matter of fact, I was. Good to hear that things are looking up. And the Wilco thing is a nice little addition as well. Hang in there. Vince
  13. no regrets. everything you are now, you are because of the choices you made and the things you've done. it's all part of who you are. second-guessing yourself is not healthy. let yourself just be who you are. it's OK to want to live better / be a better person, but that's all about what's in front of you, not behind you.
  14. Perhaps things in Des Moines, Iowa will slow down enough so that you can return soon. We'll be here.
  15. The most important band in America in this decade is actually the 3 or 4 judges who sit at the table in American Idol and determine what will be bombarded upon us through the airwaves in the coming years. Simon & Co have been at the wheel for popular music this decade. Nothin you can do about it, 'cept hopefully outlast it till it dies a natural death.
  16. How did Ben get all beat up? Also, I think this is the first time that the white flash-jump thingie actually put people in a different place. For the ones still on the island, they always came out of the other side of the flash in the same spot. For the folks on the plane last night, they ended up several thousand feet lower, and not in the same proximity to each other. And unharmed... what's that all about?
  17. No, no bother at all. In fact, I noticed the "stealth" video shooting once, and thought it was quite unobtrusive. I was behind you one row just to your right, on the long padded bench thingie. The video's are great... no complaints.
  18. On Friday, were you in the second row of the first non-gold section? Kinda left of center, dark toboggan, beard?
  19. It was a really loose kind of show. In a good way. My first JT solo, and first show at the Vic. Fun place. I had no idea it was that small. I can't imagine the energy at the residency shows lat year. Or waiting in line 5 nights in Feb. Some of the things I recall.... After he played the community song, he said that it was a nice song, and that was the last nice song we would hear.. He relayed the story about his dad calling on the cell phone at the LRS... naked. Hate it Here translated reasonably well to acoustic. Jeff was lamenting about not having the band for that one. The
  20. Visions of Fleetwood Mac kept coming to mind...
